2019 & 2020 Accepted Students Index List

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

So, after trying to find answers about my acceptance chances and the index, I decided to create a list of accepted students for the past two years.

Just an FYI this is not a complete list. Anyone who only listed their CGPA were excluded in addition to those  who have GPAs in percentage form as I did not know how to convert them.
Further, if someone said "L2 around 3.7/3.8" then I took the average.

I am not sure if this will work for others but here is a link to the 2019 accepted students sorted by date and also by index: https://smallpdf.com/shared#st=ca2cf01c-b543-41b4-ab72-fdecc88397fb&fn=2019+Lawstudents+Accepted+Tracker.pdf&ct=1612392357932&tl=share-document&rf=link

Here is the 2020 accepted students: https://smallpdf.com/shared#st=f34faf3a-3f02-4272-9c32-38b375817c96&fn=2020+Lawstudents+Accepted+Tracker.pdf&ct=1612392331543&tl=share-document&rf=link

If anyone knows a better site to upload these too for better access to anyone who would like to see them, please let me know!

Hope this helps anyone who obsessively looks over the previous acceptance threads like me.

Sorry I used the same link twice and had a filter issue! I have fixed it.

At this point I basically have those numbers memorized, but you're a bigger person than me for taking the initiative to compile it for everyone to easily access.

As a client, isn't this the kind of lawyer you would want to hire? I really hope you get accepted.

Wow, that is so kind @dalpaengi.
I have learned a lot from others on here and even on r/LSAT. It's the least I can do to pay it forward.
Fingers crossed it gives me some good karma too haha

I just want to echo everyone else on here, thank you so much for taking the time to compile the data! I am waiting on an offer and this helps me adjust my expectations.

The links are expired for me I'm not sure how to get them to work :(

That's really strange @raybens. Originally the link said it would last 17 days. Sorry about that.
I will edit the post in just a moment with a snapshot that I then uploaded to imgur. It is a little less clear but at least it should be accessible for longer (maybe forever?!). I really wish I could find a trusted site to upload PDFs to.

MAJOR APOLOGIES. Apparently I cannot edit the post more than once unless I am really just showing how terrible I am with technology. Again, sorry about the poor quality now that it is in image form.

If anyone is interested, I also created a breakdown of the applicant profile stats for 2020/21. I could not figure out how the previous person was able to place the table into a forum. lol I truly am useless at tech. If anyone knows how let me know and I can always create a separate post with some more info.

For now,  here is a link to the breakdown:  https://imgur.com/a/zEhv4nf

I used the student profile stats from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-u9luOkViBOYVM2bWFMcmJNcUpOZVBZY0lsTVpyOGRIaGFR/view

Here is the previous one for the 2019/20 cycle that I used as a guide: https://lawstudents.ca/forums/topic/61594-breakdown-of-applicant-profile-stats-20192020/

Thank you for this. Would you consider re-posting the 2019 picture without the PDF tools covering the bottom.

(also I wish this was available for every school. This is incredibly helpful)

    • My hourly billable rate as a paralegal (set by the firm) was significantly higher, lol. But obviously it depends on the market and specialization and firm reputation, etc.
    • This is probably beside the point, but what's the ethnic background that would lead to the name "seallover?" And is that a direct translation or does it just sound very similar? Kids can be cruel sometimes. The love between a man or woman, and a seal, can be a beautiful thing. You should be proud that your culture embraces it.
    • One of the major determining factors, in answering that question, is what is the ratio of support staff to lawyers in the firm? If we assume for the sake of argument that it's 1:1, which could either amount to a personal assistant for each lawyer or else a shared assistant and some staff that serve the office generally, then a big part of the overhead attributed to supporting that lawyer is paying the other staff. Then the whole rest of the firm's overhead, attributed to that lawyer, is the difference between the lawyer's pay and the staffer's. Salary is a big part of overhead, but lawyers aren't the only people at a firm getting paid. They are just the only one's who imagine their billings are "theirs" in some rightful way. It always amuses me how often lawyers get caught up in worrying about whether they are being properly paid, to the point that they forget to account for how other people are paid.
    • $160 is simply a mathematical placeholder, for the user of the formula to replace with their own rate.
