UVic Accepted 2021

erinl2

As we have done in previous cycles, we ask that you keep the Accepted threads clear of extraneous discussion.

Please list your cgpa, L2, B3, index score, etc. , LSAT score, and how you were notified. Please keep questions to asking about these particular details if they are not found in the post itself. Other posts will be deleted so as to keep these threads useful and easy to navigate.

Thank you and good luck to all!

What’s the first letter of your first and last names, if you don’t mind my asking.

I have no idea. If I had to guess it would be based on index score.

Congrats to you both!! I was wondering if either of you would be able to share a bit more information on the scholarship as I know all schools do it differently. Were they able to tell you the exact amount or just a minimum amount for now?

They tell you the minimum amount and I think it can go up later

Thank you! They did not, though I think I've read in previous years it was around 920? Not 100% sure. Best of luck!!

I have 42 of 45 units. Offer was conditional on completion of the other 3.

I'm not the poster you asked but my status was the same as yours and then changed to "Offer Extended" 🙂

    • I used spiveyconsulting.com for my apps last year and they were fantastic! Will be glad to answer any questions about them if you have any
    • I was sent a document tonight at 9:30 that is going to our GC and asked to review it immediately so as to not hold things up. I know it's a pandemic and all, but I had a zoom social event planned! Luckily they had cancelled, so I didn't have to tell our GC to wait until tomorrow for my minor comments.
    • Thanks for the update! I do think the application status is the thing most people are concerned about. Especially the ones who are still in school and have everything received except for final transcripts. It's reassuring you can receive that email while still having "action required."
    • @pyrrah thank you! This is all terrific info   My main thing is that if I move across the country I want to do so specifically to settle in Vancouver and it seems like any BC school will give me similar chances.   Also really cool that TRU has a mandatory international component! While opportunities to practice international law are extremely rare I appreciate the emphasis from the school to promote it as it's always been of interest to me academically as well as professionally.
    • Hi Everyone! Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum to ask this, but I am a Canadian citizen currently attending American law school and this summer I'm looking to apply to a few places in Canada (specifically the Ontario ministry of attorney general). I was wondering, does anybody have any recommendations for criminal law/constitutional law materials that I should read up on to familiarize myself with Canadian law in general? Could be landmark cases, recently decided important cases, or just general supplementary material would be helpful as well. Unfortunately, all I know so far is R. v. Oakes :( Thank you all so much for your help! Hope everyones doing well this semester.
