Chance Me Please! (3.6, 3.85, 165)

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm currently in my first semester of third year at UofT and I'm going to apply at the beginning of my fourth year. I've been very concerned since my first year grades are terrible, but I've maintained an upwards trend. I am aware that this is a B3 school but my CGPA still worries me, a lot. So far, my stats are: a 3.5 CGPA and my second year was a 3.81(OLSAS Converted). By the end of this year, I hope to get my CGPA up to a 3.6 at least with my 3rd year being over a 3.8. I have not written the LSAT yet, but I'm sure it'll be around the mid 160s.

With a CGPA of 3.6, B3 of a 3.85, and an LSAT of 165-168, do I have any luck in receiving an offer of acceptance from UofT or Osgoode?

U of T's median stats for last cycle were 166 and a 3.86 cGPA, so you'd be middle of the pack or maybe slightly below.

Osgoode's median stats last cycle were 161ish (82nd percentile) and a 3.69 cGPA, so you'd be slightly above the median there.

Odds for Oz would seem to be decent, while UofT you'd be middle of the pack. Of course all of that is contingent on your actual LSAT and your final cGPA.

I'd guess definitely Oz, very good chance for UofT as well. As @PlayALawyerOnTV mentioned, your stats are pretty close to the 50th percentile for UofT, so I'd be surprised if you didn't get offers from both (assuming your EC's and PS are ok/good).

Congrats in advance!!

Don't get caught up in worrying about stats, focus on school/LSAT and what happens, happens

There is an admissions predictor on lawapplicants.ca btw
