Should I apply, then retake (3.79, 146)

Recommended Posts

So I got a 146 on the August LSAT, and I am still applying for Fall 2021 year. My cGPA is a 3.79. I really do not want to retake the test. What are my chances of getting accepted to at least Windsor or Ottawa? I am thinking about retaking in Jan, should I make it known on my application or write an addendum.

close to zero chance for Ottawa

Windsor really hard to predict

Ryerson may be

Hire a private tutor and rewrite

You have very competitive cGPA (assume those are OLSAS converted)

99% chance that you'll have to retake. I've never seen anyone with a LSAT score that low get accepted anywhere.

You should apply and indicate you will rewrite.

What were you PTing at? I agree that your best bet is to retake, but if you're consistently not scoring much higher than that in practice, a retake might be moot for this cycle.

Was the 146 an aberration or was it without studying? What are your options for fall 2021 other than law school?

As it stands without a significant improvement in your LSAT score applying is a waste of money.

Do you have a  plan B ?

With your cGPA, you may stand a good chance even with mid to high 150s..

I know the thought of a retake is not a good one. but retake! Get at least into the low 150s (151, 152, 153). Someone close to me got into Windsor with a 146 last cycle with around the same GPA.

Like LuckyCharm said, get a tutor and you might see your score go a lot higher in time for admission this cycle. Harvardready is good.

Retake. How did you study? I'm the opposite to you: lower GPA, but high LSAT. I can definitely give you some advice on studying to pull your score up. I helped my best friend pull up from a 148 to 163 just by changing up her study technique and material.
