Different test on different Flex dates in the same month?

Recommended Posts

Hey there, so I'm taking the August Flex on Monday (31st) and I'm scrolling through Reddit to get feedback on how the test was for the people who took it today but then it occurred to me - would I even get the same test or questions as them? I mean technically, anyone could just call up their buddy taking the test on one of the later August dates and tell them what questions were gonna be on there, but on the other hand, would it be equitable to have tests of, in all likelihood, varying difficulty and thereby putting some people at more of an advantage than others? I'm not sure.

So for anyone who's taken any of the previous Flexes and knows for sure, if you could drop your experience here that would be great! Thanks so much!

Well, technically, no one would know if they took the same LSAT Flex exam since discussing anything about the exam is forbidden and could get you in a ton of trouble. I don't think versions or anything can be discussed.

So, I disagree. I don't think anyone would call up their buddy to talk about the type of questions on the LSAT. And when it comes to difficulty, I would say that's subjective. What may be difficult for me may be easy for you.

You may get part of what was used today, but that's not even guaranteed. The sections used in the Flex change throughout the day, and so for example the test form used first thing this morning at 7 AM EST started changing around 11 AM EST. They moved in a different RC and LR, but kept the same LG. That will change again this afternoon. tomorrow will likely use part of this afternoon's test, but again change other parts of it. That happens every day across the Flex in order to stop the exact scenario you describe :)

The end result is that a test taker on Saturday can have an entirely different test than someone on Sunday, and that applies to Monday test takers as well. Each individual test form then gets its own adjusted scale as well.

Good luck trying to figure all the versions out for your guys recap podcast if you're doing one for august. Not a light task I would imagine.

Thanks! Right now we are on top of it, but it will be a long week for sure. I think July was a good warmup for this one since it had a ton of forms too. The podcast will be out later this week, maybe Wednesday night or Thursday.

If you do not mind me asking, what podcast? :) And where? :)

The powerscore lsat podcast, they cover a whole bunch of lsat topics and usually do a recap of each months test, I find it really helpful :)

Thanks for asking! Here's our main podcast page: https://www.powerscore.com/lsat/podcast/. You can also find it on iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, etc.

We talk about all things LSAT, and after each Flex test we run down which prior sections were used, the relative difficulty of each, and the possible scales for each of the various test forms. The episode on the August Flex test will be out later in the week, once the majority of test takers have finished up!

The powerscore podcast is full of positive energy and the issues that they talked about on the podcast actually calms me down a lot. At least I know I am not the only one out there feel that way. Also the effort putting all the stuff on the forum are also helpful. The book of LR chapter 13 for formal logic is highly recommend to have it review before the test.

I just finished the Aug Flex, the whole process was smooth except my internet connection was slow? the screen blink couple of times but it does not affect me. I would recommend for someone taking the test at home if no one is around please try to use the lan line or avoid someone in the house using too much of the wifi data......i m not a tech person but I believe the proctor u  requires a lot of data transmission, even though i have a strong internet it was barely enough.

the other thing, it is good to have a mirror with you so you can show the proctor your computer screen, thank god i have a wall mirror in my room and i was using a laptop so i drag the laptop to the wall mirror.....

Forgot to say, make sure your desk have enough lighting, yesterday it was not a sunny day, the proctor did ask me to brighten up as they can see very clearly from the camera.

the actual test is just like another PT, it is difficult for me anyways....good luck everyone.

Damn.... If they are giving people hotel vouchers, how do they expect a stable wifi connection?!?!? (I can't do mine at home). Anyone know if you can pay hotels not to throttle your connection lol

That's the reason why I have bought a USB-C to gigabit Ethernet adapter ...
