Chances?

Ontario resident with decent French reading ability and basic speaking ability (and a strong desire to improve upon both)

LSAT: 160

OLSAS GPA: 3.67

Honours BA (Joint major in English and History)

B.Ed in Secondary Teaching

I'm in at Queen's but McGill is still my top choice...do I have any hope?!

Hi! I would say both your GPA and LSAT are on the lower end for admission at McGill. Median accepted GPA in 2019 was 3.8. Median LSAT was 163. This does not at all mean you have no path towards admission. It will rely now on your ECs and references. If you have exceptional ECs and references, as well as potential extenuating circumstances, anything is possible. Realistically though, you have to factor in that almost everyone admitted at McGill has both exceptional grades and ECs and references. I wish you all the luck, glad to hear you got into other schools as well.

    • Je suis allée voir pour l'année passée, c'est allé jusqu'au 12 mai les acceptations et par lui suite ils ont sorti la liste d'attente la journée même. Je crois qu'on en a encore pour un bout. C'est lourd haha. Mais bon l'année passé il y a eu le lockdown et tout et j'imagine qu'ils ont prit du retard,  je ne crois pas que ca va aller jusque là cette année. Mais honnêtement j'en ai vraiment marre d'aller voir mon centre étudiant tous les jours. J'ai tellement hâte de savoir j'ai des arrangements à faire (loyer, nouvel appart, nouvelle ville etc).  Courage on en a surement pour moins d'un mois d'attente ! 
    • It seems like the offers that were made on the 15th came from the general category. Pure speculation- but maybe the access committee hasn't sat down for an assessment session since the April 1st deadline? Hoping there's movement for access applicants soon  
    • What score did you end up with? if you don't mind me asking. And was that it? just the seven weeks? 
    • Je connais quelqu'un qui l'a fait et ça donne des sessions assez chargées! Elle l'avait plus fait par opportunité, mais c'est certains que ça peut être intéressant d'avoir les deux.
