Just got accepted in the past 20 minutes! I was checking the portal multiple times because of the posts in this thread :D

OLSAS cGPA 3.30 (STEM) / Western L2 (last 60 credits, unconfirmed) 3.56 / Queen's L2 3.84 / LSAT 165 (Sept 2019) / General category (equity considerations and work experience cited in PS) / 5 years of relevant work experience (academic research, law enforcement, paralegal, regulatory compliance consulting).

I was losing hope on Western because of the silence but this news has really made me ecstatic!

Accepted today through student centre.

Mature applicant

cGPA: 2.46 (2010) B3/L2 etc. Never calculated lol

LSAT: 170

I spent the last ten years running a small business not related to law. Figured this would be nice to see if you're like me. I was a terrible student in undergrad, no excuses or special circumstances, just a lack of direction and work ethic. I followed a passion into entrepreneurship, worked my ass off on that, and developed an interest in law later.

So yeah, mature applicants/splitters: don't give up hope - being a total slouch in your early twenties doesn't necessarily doom you.

In today through portal.

OLSAS cGPA 3.42, L2 3.28 (LOL),  LSAT 165, pretty basic ECs, good PS and LORs, worked for about 3 years after undergrad in the legal industry.

Gonna echo the post above about splitters, don't be too discouraged by your GPA! Good luck to everyone still waiting.

ECs are alright. Graduated in June 2015 from Western and have worked in a financial services and financial tech since then. Have done a lot of solo travel around the world and recently did a 6 month work secondment in Australia.

    • Why would that be upsetting to the lawyer? What an odd thing to be upset about.
    • Got the email a week or two ago.       cGPA: 3.6 LSAT: 155
    • Both programs are being run online as of now for the fall term, with a 'possibility of face-face learning'.
    • Hello,  I am applying to law schools this coming semester (2020 fall) and I am about to take a course where the professor does not post marks and it's too late to drop the course as it is starting on Tuesday. My goal is to take 2.0 credits (3 courses) this term so I can be able to take just 4 courses per semester on the fall and winter. My question here is because its too risky to estimate your marks and I won't be getting any grades for the course until its posted online when the course is done. Do you think if I credit no credit (pass or fail) will look bad on my application as someone who is graduating this year?  I am just asking because I rather CNR then have a B grade on my transcript , which will then lower my CGPA overall as well.  Any advice would help Thank you so much in advance !
    • You have access to the leftover. They portion out the full amount over the three years of law school, but then end result is that by the beginning of 3L you have access to the full amount. You (generally) have access to that full amount until the end of your articling year, at which point it becomes a term loan. After that, you won’t be able to borrow from it – although apparently some people negotiate it into a revolving professional line of credit, and thus have access to it on an ongoing basis.
