Does anyone know when entrance scholarships are awarded? Having some trouble navigating the website

I believe it varies from year to year - in 2017 all of the Fall awards were given out in late October, and in 2018 it was in early November, but if you receive an entrance award they will let you know by email earlier than that!

Thank you! This makes sense as I saw that some of the applications don't open until August for entrance awards

Theyve already been given out

The Fulton and Co. and the BC Law Foundation Awards have been given out? I see that just those two specify a spring notification date.

Those aren't entrance scholarships, so no they haven't been given out already.

    • My JP went to Mexico for a bachelor's party during reading week in 1L and did just fine. I stayed home so I got some studying done, but nothing too intense. Maybe a few readings.  I would play it by ear. If you're quite behind on your readings then I wouldn't go, but taking that week off most likely won't affect your grades so long as you're working at a steady pace for the rest of the semester. Also know of quite a few others who went on vacations during reading week and it seems that they did well. TL;DR go see your family unless you're really behind.

    • Choosing a school/program specifically to minimize one's chances of getting rejected from law school is not worth it, in my opinion. OP, if you do plan on going into business at U of A though, you should still look into the various leadership opportunities, case competitions, internships, and possibly the PRIME Program. Not because U of A law would be impressed by them, but because undergrad should be much more than just a pre-law program.  That being said, discrete math might be a course you would be interested in since it can be helpful for the LSAT.
    • My OASIS updated on July 19th saying I’ve been removed from the waitlist due to accepting another offer. Bummed my Osgoode dreams are over but grateful to be going to law school. Wishing everyone still on the waitlist all the best  my fingers are crossed for you! Hopefully this opens another spot for you all.
