I am in a province other than Ontario, but in my experience getting a "gig" doing legal aid (by which I mean setting up a private practice taking entirely or mostly legal aid clients) is not difficult: legal aid pays a fraction of what private practice lawyers can charge a cash client, so legal aid family law clients are abundant, as few lawyers are willing to take their cases when they can work at capacity for cash clients.
I re-wrote my LSAT in January, was PT'ing mid-160's before writing so definitely hoping I managed to do the same on test day. I'm starting to get nervous as there has been no movement on my application (i.e. still not in queue).
dear @QuincyWagstaff i apologize for being such a confused individual. legal aid is funded by the gov, and they don't have a lot of $ right now, so i presumed getting this kind of gig would be hard. this is what i meant.
