Email from Lakehead

Recommended Posts

Did everyone receive the email from Lakehead with the subject line "Take Your Next Steps"

One of the parts to click on says, "Look out Lakehead, Here I Come! Click Here To Find Out How To Accept Your Offer"

I imagine it went to everyone but I thought it was weird that it referenced how to accept an offer? The wording of the email would be appropriate to someone who got accepted, not a pending applicant.

I received the same email. I am not sure what it means...there is a part the end that says "Join the incoming class Class of 2018.." :|

A little confused!

A misleading email indeed!

I also received the same email. Not sure if this email is for those who are accepted or just a acknowledgement email.

It's for their undergraduate program- Im guessing they sent it to everyone who applied to any program at Lakehead. The sender is 'Lakehead University Undergraduate Recruitment'.

Law school is an undergraduate program though, no? When you click on the link to learn how to "accept the offer" they include OLSAS.

True.

I just read the email completely- it's very misleading.

Hey guys, I figured out how to log into Lakehead's application portal thing. I am still listed as wait listed, so I am going to assume that this email was a mistake.

If you want to check your own status, follow these steps:

1. use the "account recovery" option at the bottom of the email for MyInfo - Above the "reset your password" option, click on them "account recovery" link and use the email address you used to apply as your username. They'll provide your new username for further sign in.

2. Reset your password

3. Log into MyInfo

I also got the email, very misleading. Why was it sent out?

I checked my status and I'm still waitlisted. But I think I'm going to call them tomorrow anyway and ask what's up.

I got the email too.. I asked in the "accepted" category.. I see I'm not the only one.  I sent a reply to both recruitment and law email addresses.

Has anyone successfully logged in Lakehead's portal that hasn't been waitlisted? I went through the steps that @elainebenes so graciously provided and was unable to.

I emailed IT and they essentially suggested I wasn't in the system yet, which would make sense as I have not received any correspondence suggesting I'm waitlisted. As I look at those who have responded successfully, they all mention they have been waitlisted. Anyone else?

    • Offer came today at 3:55pm. OLSAS cGPA: 3.22 L2: ~3.9 according to OLSAS conversion table LSAT: 166 (one write) Decent academic references and a strong personal reference. Will likely be declining, but still undecided.
    • Just checked and I got the email earlier today! cGPA: 3.48 L2: 3.65 LSAT: 160 That rounds out all my acceptances for this cycle. I'm honestly kind of surprised I've heard from everywhere already because my stats aren't amazing by any means, but it perhaps highlights that soft factors are still quite valuable (Master's degree, autobiographical sketch was nearly full, took a few years away from school to gain professional experience, etc.)
    • Law schools like to maximize applications, but thay says nothing of your chances. You should not bank on getting into McGill law with a 154 and your GPA whatsoever. I'm just saying temper your expectations. You didnt provide much about your ECs so I can't comment. At a glance they weren't spectacular, which they would often need to be to overcome a poor lsat score or poor GPA.
    • I was wondering if anyone who applied for Crown summer jobs in Ontario has heard anything yet? And if so, how long after the deadline did it take to hear back? I say this because the closing dates varied quite a bit. Thanks in advance!
    • First acceptance and it's my dream school!!! CGPA: 3.51 L2: 3.68 LSAT:161 General Hope to see some of you there!!!
