Duration - "Your application is complete and currently in progress."

Recommended Posts

Received an email a few days ago stating that my application is complete and currently in progress. Has anybody received this email and since been waitlisted? Or received this email and been waiting to hear back for more than a few weeks?

I received that email on Dec 13, which could be a bad sign for me, who knows. It seems some people were responded to within a week, and I think others have been waiting since November.

I received the email on January 8th. My stats are very borderline, so I doubt I will hear back for awhile unless it’s a rejection.

I received the email on December 1st, I remember distinctly because it was the day before the LSAT.  I have yet to hear anything back since, but my prior LSAT scores before my December write were not very competitive so perhaps that is why.

I received mine on Jan. 8; my stats are fairly above average- nothing outstanding, but hopefully enough to get accepted this round. Trying to be patient and failing!!

I got the same email on January 11. Looking at previous year threads, people around this time either got this email or an email stating they’re not currently competitive and will be reviewed in May. Those that received this email heard within a week or two that they were accepted.  I was hoping that’s the case for this year also, but I’ve been hearing that people have received this email and haven’t heard for weeks or even months. That leads me to believe that this could just be a standard email indicating they’ve received all your files, similar to Calgary’s green circle, Ottawa’s Under Evaluation, Osgoode’s in queue, etc. I’m really not sure, but I hope it means that we’re competitive for this round of Admissions!

I haven't received anything from Dal. One of my transcripts got lost on the way there, so my application was completed later than expected (around November 25). Since then I haven't heard a thing. I'll probably send an email tomorrow.

Has anyone else not heard from Dal confirmation after applying?

(P.S I did not write the dec LSAT)

Have you checked your online status? I received my email on Friday and the status had changed one day later

Hmmm, I received my email on Jan 8th, but where do you check your status? I don't see an option to check my  status on my dal application portal. I was under the impression dal didn't update statuses online, but that you could only get your decision over email.

I called the school actually and they said Rose would be emailing me soon but in the application portal my status changed from "written notification to follow" to "accepted/ deposit required"

    • Hey all, Was hoping for some input on this as I've seen contradictory things and could use some advice. I've lived in Ontario my whole life and for various reasons am going almost certainly going to want to practice in Ontario after I finish schooling. I am however sick and tired of this place, and would love to spend the three years of law school in the glorious place that is British Columbia. I'm 99% sure I have the grades/lsat to get into UBC, but is it advisable to go to school across the country from where I plan to practice? I luckily have some sort of network here in Ontario already (Friend's family has a close relationship with a firm that operates in the exact field of law I'll likely be practicing in) but I'd rather not rely on that and would like some input. Thanks in advance, sorry if this topic has been beaten to death but I'm either a moron or searching things is kinda hard here.  .
    • Hey guys! so unfortunately I was rejected to the schools I applied to for sept 2019 and will be re-applying. I am wondering if in my personal statement I should mention that I applied last year and what I have been doing since my last application that makes me different. Is it worth mentioning or would it be a red flag for admissions to read a personal statement that says I’ve already been rejected prior. Any info on this will help! Thanks guys!
    • Hi everyone, Today I have been opening up/ getting ready to open applications in 6 Canadian Law Schools, UVIC being one of them. I don't know why I expected there to be a place where they would ask for a resume/CV from me. But so far I haven't really seen such places on the applications I have opened. Is this normal? If so, do schools typically just want me to include all extra curricular/ achievements in my personal statement?  Don't know anyone else applying for Law school so any input is appreciated.  If needed for reference I am applying to UVIC, UBC, U of A, U of C, TRU, U of Sask.
    • Thanks so much for the reply! That's good to know.
    • An A average on a dud candidate that doesn’t fit with the firm isn’t getting hired over the B average student with an infectious personality whom everyone loves.  An A average will assist with tied applicants between that particular student and a B+ student or anyone below that. It’s fairly intuitive. No one will or can provide advice as to exactly how much emphasis is being placed on what at each firm. It’s a contextual decision based on the students grades, personality, and how that meshes with the particular firm.
