No exaggeration, this has happened to me 2-3 times. I don't know what's worse, the accepted dreams or the rejected.

I feel this! So I've been doing the DuoLingo thing for like, 4 months now. So I get the rejection letters except I'm seeing in what I think French looks like. It probably isn't actual  french--- it just resembles French-

But you get the point. Feels awful- either devastating or disappointing

I recently had one where I was rejected. So you can imagine how I felt when I woke up

Oh good, so I’m not the only one having these dreams (also 2-3 times so far).

Accepted! No email as of yet. cgpa: 3.65 L2: 3.85 LSAT: 158 MA degree - 4.3 (although doubt that matters), research experience + publications, 2 years of work experience in a top tech company, strong ECs, 3 LORs (2 academic, 1 professional).

Long time lurker but glad that I can finally say I got accepted today :D

Stats are 3.66 cGPA, 3.84 L2 and 156 LSAT (best) with good LORs (I think) and decent/okay ECs.

All the best to everyone, I know the wait sucks but hopefully you all hear back soon!

not randomized

The stats is not the only factor they looked at.

I called again yesterday, they told me it was indeed randomized, and to expect an answer between now and the end of June.

So annoying how they do it like that, hopefully there are spots left once they get to me...

You can almost guess how many more seats they have, Ottawa U accepts a class around 320 I believe. Just count how many people here have been accepted and subtract how many spots they have left. As much as I want to believe I still have a shot if they don't get to me until late June I'm just assuming it's not good.

This forum isn't a good indicator of how many seats they actually have left. Lots of people chose to not post, or have no clue/don't care that this forum exists at all. I'd argue that the best guess that can be made from this forum would be to look at the 2017 acceptance thread and count how many acceptances there were, then compare the number to how many are on the 2018 thread. Still, it won't be very helpful.

(I did this for Windsor- it wasn't helpful )

    • Congratulations!  Are you waiting on any other acceptances?
    • I feel like a lot of comments here have been quite negative about your chances. You can absolutely go to Law School with a L2 of 3.48 but your LSAT will be key. In my opinion 10 hours a week is pretty much nothing in terms of LSAT prep. You are looking at needing probably a 165 or better. This is absolutely doable but you will need to dedicate yourself entirely to it. I had a similar situation to yours, I have a low GPA and to get into the school I want I needed a 170 LSAT. I took the test twice. The first time I scored a 165 and the second time I scored a 171. I studied a minimum of 4 hours a day 6 days a week. I didn’t burn out because I wanted it more than anything else. You can get yourself into law school if that’s what you want. But it’s going to take a lot of work.  As far as prep goes. I am now an LSAT instructor and I will tell you that prep courses are designed to teach to the middle. You are looking at needing the 90th percentile or better so prep courses can help you get started but you’re gonna need to do a lot on your own to get your score where you need it. I like the bibles a lot and 7sages LG explanations are probably one of the best free resources out there.  Good luck! If you really want this, you’ll get it. Although I will caution you that the LSAT is a ruthless test. Don’t be discouraged if it takes you a lot of time to get it right.  And finally. Remember that law school is extremely expensive in both time and money. So really think about whether it’s an investment you are willing to make.
    • Accepted yesterday.  3.8 cgpa, 161, general category.
    • Ya so far that's what I am doing, jotting down short sentences for better understanding!
    • I am so afraid of digging into new stuff now but I'll try it if nothing else comes
