Accepted at McGill 2018

Recommended Posts

Anyone still waiting for a decision?

I'm in advanced standing category and wondering if they normally process this category at the very last, or maybe I'm simply forgotten... I did my French interview at the beginning of this March and haven't heard any news since then.

I'm a re-applicant. Last year I did the French interview on March 30 and was rejected 6 days later. So I assume "no news is good news"?

Had a good cry this morning when I got the email that I've been accepted off of the waitlist!

CGPA 3.63; LSAT 160

Great ECs and PS, and excellent LORs

Submitted my LOCI on 18 June, exactly a month after hearing I was on the waitlist. Didn't send an updated resume.

Best of luck to those of you still waiting to hear, and soooo excited to meet all of you in September! :-D

Even though McGill doesn't require it, if you have a poor lsat score, does this practically disqualify your application from being considered for admission?

If you rewrite and get a substantially better score, they may weight less the first write. However, they average scores. If you've written it, it is considered as a part of your application. If not, it neither hurts nor helps you.

Accepted offer to McGill earlier this week. Offer was made in late April following French comprehension phone interview in early March.

B.A. GPA was 3.5ish (scales differ but between a B+ and A-); M.A. GPA was more in the A- range. Took LSAT twice and got 161 and 170. Decent ECs, couple years' substantive work experience, decent French comprehension but not fully bilingual.

Good luck to all those still waiting to hear!

@rufus any word of advice for how you managed such an amazing jump in your LSAT score?

Was just accepted via email! I had a French interview this past week. Good luck to those waiting :)

GPA 3.41

MA 3.85

LSAT 169

Do you mind sharing what field of study you were in? Currently have a CGPA on the lower side but afraid that the fact I majored in history will work against me since as far as I can tell McGill is only really lenient when it comes to science programs.

McGill treats all degrees alike, as far as anyone I've spoken to is/I am aware.
