Is there  a facebook group for transfer students? Also can any older transfer students comment, if its hard to make friends or hard to get into certain courses once you transfer?

Was accepted off the waitlist this afternoon! Will be accepting.

congrats!! I'm anxiously waiting aswell. I'm on the waitlist right now but not sure how much movement there is normally from the waitlist pool since spots are so limited. Are other people waiting aswell?

Is it difficult to transfer into osgoode in 2L?

Do you mean after 2L? That would require a Letter of Permission. You'd still get your degree from your original school

Hey, I am trying to transfer to Osgoode this year. On OLSAS, I see that the required character limit is 2000 for the personal statement?

Is that correct? or would it direct me to another window for further questions to be answered after I submit save?

I appreciate your response?

    • I read somewhere on the Queen's website you can apply during 1L. Keep in mind they only allow 5-7 students per year and the MBA year costs something like $75k. That latter detail suppressed any further curiosity I had for the program.
    • Je crois bien que ça va dépendre de la cohorte. Je me retrouve dans une situation semblable à la tienne avec mon cru d’environ 27.
    • Thank you! I also did the written test with BC LSB, but I haven't heard anything back from them yet, only BC Prosecutions. If it's any consolation, I thought I did very poorly on the BC Prosecutions written test and I still got a 2nd round interview, so you probably did better than you think!
    • Haven’t heard back myself. I’m assuming instead of rolling admissions they are going to review the remainder of the applications before sending acceptances. But I could be totally wrong.
    • I also know a foreign law school grad (University of Vermont I think) who articled with legal aid Ontario in Hamilton.  He still works with legal aid as a staff lawyer 5 years later, although not in the Hamilton office anymore. I was shocked when he told me that legal aid hired him as an articling student with a foreign law degree, but based on what you're I guess its not that unusual.    I can confirm that I know a  couple lawyers  in Toronto who perfectly fit this description. One of them conveniently omits the fact that he went to Bond on his law firms page, but mentions that he ATTENDED a reputable Canadian Law School. But if you look up his LinkedIn page, you can still see that he got his JD from bond and his LLM from the Canadian Law school. For what its worth, he's about as incompetent a lawyer I have come across in Family Court.
