Don't go to University or Law School "Just Cause"

Recommended Posts

Everyone will tell you to, and that you will have a better resume or whatever, but don't listen.

Whenever I rant on here about how much law school sucks and how much practicing sucks too as far as I can tell, people always say "what are your other options?"

To this, I say that trades people and health care workers do fine and only go to school for a short time.  I also say that somebody who is delivering pizza but never went to school at all after grade 12 is probably in a better financial position than many of my classmates who have 6 figured debt and no jobs.

Also, most people in law school are not good looking, and are assholes.

I'm counting down the days 'til 3L ends, but YOU could save yourself from this.

So put down them LSAT books and start a hot dog stand or learn how to weld.  If you do go to law school, I hope you get what you have coming to you.  A miserable amount of debt which you will have to pay off by doing trailer park divorces and fighting with your ugly, asshole colleagues.

Good day

Yes I am. And thanks :)

Maybe they'll win a Stanley Cup in your lifetime...  Oh wait, I meant maybe they'll make the playoffs in your lifetime.  Keep rooting hard though.

Lol dude for a 3L you are unbelievably immature. But anyhow I am a fan of the team and I will support them through thick and thin. Don't worry about me. Seems as if you have much more to worry about.

I do respect the fact that you posted your opinion as forthcoming as it was but, with that being said, Pizza Nova is still hiring. Also, next time, post when your blood alcohol level is at a legal level.

That was very persuasive. I'm convinced. Looks like I'll be opening up a few spots for other applicants, thanks to Fletcher.

Noting the proliferation of 0L posts after Lord Diplock has spoken.  Keep 'em coming guys, then go back to your logic games and line up that huge line of credit that will ruin your life.  I think there's been some shameless financial people putting their own info on here so give them a call.

I don't have to take a line of credit. I am blessed with parents that can pay for my education without me having to pay a dime. Yes, I am a 0L, regardless, to state that debt equates to ruining your life is a tad absurd.

That's awesome good for you man.  You should spend it on something worthwhile, not a law degree.

This is true.  But fear not!  It has been my experience that people get much less assholish once they're lawyers--still very average looking and with little to no personal style--but much nicer.

Damn, and I thought I only wanted to go law school for all the hot girls. Guess I should reconsider now :P (as if...)

Nope.  That's why I'm not dating a lawyer.  (I plead proximity for my past transgressions.)

    • Hi, I'm just creating this post as a PSA.  For those who are accepting their offers, you will need to send in your tuition deposit before you can full accept your offer.  Because I'm an anxious person, I was tracking my order daily.  My deposit sat at the university for almost a week, and this was driving me nuts!  Just to make sure there was not a mistake, I emailed Doreen, and here was her response to me: Access to mail is weekly, and Student Accounts attend on campus once a week to process mail and deposits, so it is taking a bit longer to complete some processes.  This will not affect your acceptance.  As soon as we receive confirmation from Student Accounts that they have received your deposit, your Supplemental Item list will be updated, and your acceptance will be finalized.    I hope this can help ease any anxiety you might have if you are in the same boat.     Thanks   WSC
    • I'd read them once and maybe more if you have time. Realistically, you won't benefit much by reading them twice but it might help a bit. Some questions are quite simple. Stuff like which courts hear which types of cases, how long you have to file various things, and so on. Not much thinking involved. Others are quite stupid. You might have a PR question where you have a problem and the question consists of choosing which of the four things you should probably do should be done first.
    • So, read them once, if even that?   also, the questions are that easy?
    • @pzabbythesecond I remember that there was one question about how long you need to keep records of CLE course completion for which the answer was only in the bylaws.
    • Nope, we didn't receive any emails about the option of reconsidering our acceptances. I believe students still have the opportunity to withdraw their acceptances at any time if there are any concerns but the school itself hasn't given that option to accepted students
