  1. Got the offer yesterday but I’m not sure whether I’ll accept it yet. L2: around 3.7 LSAT: 163 Best of luck everyone!
  2. Thanks for your insight. I have talked to the family members that are accessible — the closest of whom is my mom. I should have clarified that the vast majority of them are lawyers in different countries and quite a bit older than I am. My mom herself went through the NCA pathway and though she loves it, at present I have no interest in the area of law she practices. Another uncle had a career as an accountant in the US and his job offered to pay for his law school to essentially come back to continue working for them. I’m looking for guidance from people closer to my age range and fairly recent Canadian JDs. Glad to hear that it’s not uncommon to be undecided for a while. What was your specific experience?
  3. I’m sorry friend, I simply don’t know. If I had to guess, I’d say probably in late January because although (I thought) my file was completed in November, I got an email in early January saying there was a problem with a doc I submitted and I should resubmit. Easier said than done, but try not to stress. Best of luck!
  4. I'm studying law because I've always been drawn to the profession (this may very well be because one side of my family is made up almost entirely of lawyers). While there is a strong pull to the law in general, I'm not sure what area of law I would want to practice. I've been accepted into a number of schools and will definitely be starting somewhere in Fall 2021. In my personal statements I wrote about being most interested in environmental law but I am not entirely sure if that is what I will end up focusing on -- especially since it seems to be a bit of a niche area. I have a bit of a novelty seeking personality and part of the thrill of law school is getting to learn about different areas of the law. To those who were undecided in 0L, what ended up being your area of focus and why? Bonus question -- does anyone else relate to being a novelty seeker? How (if at all) did you find fulfilment in law school or in your current practice? (To everyone who still contributes to this forum despite the stress of articling/practicing/raising kids/living full lives, thank you for all you do! You are brilliant and this is my lil love note to you)
