LSAT- Should I retake in Jan?
lawstudentforum replied to lawgirl97's topic in Law School Admission Test (LSAT)
I'm actually looking at "the lsat nerds" right now cuz it seems like self studying just isn't cutting it for me. They have a lot of great reviews -
Hey guys. I just received my Nov. 2020 lsat score and it actually turned out to be lower than expected. I was scoring high on my PT but my mark actually ended up being 5 marks lower than my PT scores and not only that, I went down 2 percentiles than my previous lsat that I took in Feb. Do you think I should cancel this score? I am planning on taking it in Jan 2021 now but I was just wondering if it looks bad to have a cancelled score on record. Thanks.

That's exactly the same mentality that I have and I love that there are others out there that think the same. Although it's sometimes rare to meet people that think this way because there are many people that think everything in life is a competition. You don't lose anything if you help someone out -- if you're kind to someone, the universe will reward you for your kindnessโค๏ธ -

Dude, you are so, so kind. Honestly as embarrassing as it might sound, I'm stumping on every game. I really am having trouble with diagramming. I am starting to get a hang of the questions and so far I am getting between 3/7 - 7/7 questions correct. Right now what I'm doing is I first attempt to draw the diagram and most of the time it's like inaccurate lol, then I copy down what the instructor from the vid has. But the thing is, I answer the questions by myself. I don't watch to see how they go about answering the questions, I attempt em myself. Once I'm done answering the questions I continue watching the video to see if my answers are correct or see if I need further clarification with anything. But keep in mind, I am not spending like a minute or two to answer these questions, the only reason why I would get like 6/7 or 7/7 is because I am spending just a tad (ok I actually mean a lot) bit more time on em ๐ถ -

Heyy! Dude, I totally understand. As much as I want to give myself like half the day to solve 4 games I can't. It's totally unrealistic, hence I am strategically managing my time. Those are actually really great tips. Like as much as I should get into the nitty-gritty of the games and understand what makes a particular game unique, I really don't have the time to. But I'm still not gunna completellyyyy ignore the game structure cuz I feel like that'll land me in shit lol. Btw I checked out your list and those were very helpful techniques. I will be reviewing it and trying my best to implement upon it My test is on Nov. 11 and honestly, I'm praying that all goes well but if it doesn't, then you best believe I will be back here so I can kick ass for the January exam. Thank you for being so kind!! -

Hey!! Some instructors (obvs from YT vids) are like hey guys we are going to attempt to do this unusual game that doesn't occur very often, but it's still pertinent that you know the tips and tricks of how to resolve such an occurrence. I'm just like all the games literally look unusual to me, like what are you even going on about ๐ ok but srsly, I'm just tryna get the basic ones out of the way (aka the types that I see more often) and then I'll probably start to recognize the ones that are odd. That is true, I need to get better at making diagrams and solving the questions effectively before I add timing in the mix cuz then that'll throw me in a jumble. Thanks a lot for your help! -

Hey! That's totally cool! I am actually in a jumble right now, for some games I can create the diagram and answer questions, but for some, oh lord, I don't even know where to start. I am gunna go back to the basics first and re-learn categorization. I am really not trying to beat myself down over the fact that the exam is a week away or else I'm gunna freak out even more and literally forget everything lol ๐ง The motto is to stay positive! -

That's completely okay! I understand that everyone has own their abilities and strengths, and the same method is not going to work for everyone. It does take consistency to master a method as well and be confident with it. I am glad that you were able to master LG and were able to get better at your weaker points. Thanks for taking the time to help me out and for sharing your personal experience!!
