  1. I apologize if this has been asked but I could not seem to find the answer...does anyone know if summer school courses are included on OLSAS' cumulative GPA calculation (especially summer courses taken at a full course load)?
  2. I am trying to figure out whether or not to apply in the access category at Queen's. I emailed admissions with my situation and they responded: The situation you have described sounds like you would qualify as an access applicant. We have three subcategories within access, mature, disable and disadvantage. Without getting into too much detail, I had a medical issue in first year that impeded my first year GPA (ended first year with around a 3.5 GPA). My stats as they are now are: LSAT: 165 (one take) cGPA: 3.78 B2: 3.96 Are there any disadvantages to applying in the access category? Is my GPA discrepancy enough to make it worth it to file an access claim? Should I just apply in the general category? Also wondering if Queen's will consider marks from Fall of this year (since it looks like they don't usually start accepting students until mid-late January)? Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this!
  3. This happened to me too:(
  4. Hello! Due to various circumstances, I am completing my 4-year Honours degree in 3 years. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not there is a place to acknowledge that I will be completing a four-year degree on OLSAS or if it is recommended that I reach out to the schools to ensure that they are not confused by my application? From my understanding, schools like Osgoode typically prefer 4-year degrees so I want to make sure this is clear! Thank you in advance for any advice you all might have:))
  5. Thank you for your prompt response! This is very reassuring to hear!!
  6. Hi! I am so glad to have stumbled upon this forum. My stats are as mentioned in the title. My school is on a 4.3 scale so my cGPA translates to about a 3.73 on the OLSAS scale. I scored a 165 on my first LSAT take last June. I did not plan on retaking (but could if need be). I was wondering what my chances are, especially for Osgoode, and more specifically their JD/MBA program. This is my dream school but I will also be applying to Queen's and Western as well, which are two schools I also really love. My EC's are fairly typical: undergraduate teaching assistant, I played a varsity sport, worked part-time throughout school, have had a couple of summer internships, have a lot of charity volunteer experience, and am involved in several clubs and councils at my school. Any insights on my chances at the above-mentioned schools would be greatly appreciated. I was also wondering if there is any value in applying early? Since I have most of my materials compiled assuming the personal statements stay the same as last year - I have been working on them all summer - I will probably be submitting in late August or early September (my LSAT score is from last year and my select profs have already been notified for letters of recommendations). Sorry for the long post but would greatly appreciate any advice!
