  1. Hello, I am currently in the Bachelor of science program and am wondering how does both the University of Alberta and Calgary calculate an applicant's last two years. I have looked at each institutions site and have read the following: UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA 1.The Admission GPA is calculated using the applicant's most recent 60 units/credits (equivalent to 2 years of full time study) in a recognized university degree (undergraduate or graduate), provided those units of course weight are completed by February 1st in the year in which admission is sought. This is the minimum number of units/credits or courses that will be used in the assessment of an applicant's GPA. QUESTION FOR #1-I will soon be graduating from be bachelor of science degree and have taken an extra "5th" year in order to finish my major requirements as well as take extra courses in sociology which I wanted to learn more about. I will be graduating April 2019 and was hoping to submit my application early September/October 2019. I was told however that the University will not be including my winter term 2019 marks into the last 60 credit calculation. I was wondering why? Also, if I were to wait a year and instead apply September/October 2020 will they then include my winter term 2019 from my 5th year into the G.P.A calculation? UNIVERSITY OF CALGARY 2. Your GPA will be based on the last 20 half-courses of your undergraduate studies, up to December 31 of the year you submit your application. When assessing your application, the Admissions Committee will also take into account your entire academic performance, in both undergraduate and graduate programs. BASICALLY SAME PROBLEM FOR BOTH SCHOOLS. I HOPEFULLY WANT MY WINTER TERM FROM MY 5TH YEAR TO BE COUNTED ONLY BECAUSE I DID REALLY WELL WITH A SOLID 4.0 AND HAD ALL 5 courses that were 300 AND 400 LEVEL COURSES. With my winter term 2019 from 5th year counted my last 60 credit GPA would be a 3.8 however if its not counted my GPA would be a 3.5. If anyone could help answer my questions it would greatley be appreciated thank you!
