  1. I'm honestly open to outside of the GTA as well, maybe not as far as London, and definitely not as far as Windsor. All I want is a good firm that's going to teach me a lot and give me a good experience with a law-related job
  2. just the GTA! Which I know might be ridiculous giving I'm looking for work, but I just don't enjoy Windsor enough to be willing to stay.
  3. this really makes me feel better. I did strike out on OCIs, but also with some jobs outside of OCIs so I just feel not the best. Your experience really does help though. Being in the position currently makes me feel like it's the end of the world (despite knowing it absolutely is not), so it's hard to move past it and stay motivated in all the things I do to be a better applicant. Thank you!
  4. Thank you everyone, your responses are so appreciated
  5. Let me start by saying I know we're told multiple times that it's not the end of the world if we don't get a summer position, but it is really discouraging. I did OCIs, didn't get a job. Submitted applications to other places and didn't hear back. Interviewed with a firm I really liked and didn't get the job. My ECs are great, my grades are good, I'm told I'm very personable - although maybe I just suck at interviewing? Either way, any advice on how to cope with not being able to find a job? And alternatively, accepting you may be doing something other than working within the law your 2L summer? I'm trying to stay focused and not dwell on what has happened, but I really do feel discouraged. I put a lot into my school work and ECs, and now I just feel like it doesn't matter regardless of what I do. I also just really wanted to be working within the field this summer so I really am just discouraged (and kind of sad, not going to lie) Just looking for any kind of guidance or words of encouragement or advice here really. I'm not sure what my next steps will be and I think maybe that's making it harder as well. Thank you in advance
  6. thank you everyone! I appreciate the reassurance. I think the difficult part was thinking I was a shoo in (stupid, I know) because of things like grades and a ton of networking. Excited and nervous to see where this process gets me though! Thank you for taking the time to reply!
  7. well that’s disheartening, a follow up question: how does one move on from not getting an interview with their top choice?
  8. If a firm does not email you an ITC or PFO, but have emailed others in your cohort ITCs, does that mean you likely do not have an interview with that firm?
  9. I couldn't find this question elsewhere but I was just wondering, typically, how long does it take for a firm to offer an OCI after reviewing your application? Would they be sending out offers within a week? Do they take their time and do it in September? Just looking for a general timeline
  10. When I needed an enrolment certificate for my LOC, I emailed the registrars office and although they took a while, they emailed it back to me. Additionally, from my understanding we're all supposed to be registered for our courses this week and 24 hours after we're registered, an enrolment certificate should be available on myuwindsor. Hope that helps
  11. Hey, I got into the dual program last week, a week after my single JD acceptance. OLSAS cGPA 3.26 LSAT 153 good LORs, ok ECs...I had already firmly accepted my single JD when I got this acceptance so I was a bit confused. Just wanted to post for those who are looking to see what kinds of students are getting in.
  12. Hey guys, I got accepted a little later into the cycle (second week of June) and now I'm having a hard time finding a place to live. I really want a 1 bedroom apartment close to the school but can't seem to find anything. I'm starting to feel a little desperate. Does anyone know of any listings or whatnot? Thanks in advance
  13. Just off of referred to admissions! and yes, I got an email around 8am yesterday (EST). Thank you very much!! I'm super excited
