  1. I know exactly what you mean. My school only issues letter grades and to get an A+ I had to get 95% or higher. In many of the courses in which I did get an A+, I did get more than 95%. In fact, I got 100% in many of these courses (yes I did get perfect grades on all assignments including papers and exams and yes I had to work hard for those grades). At Allard, all of these grades would translate to 90% - that's a whopping 10% difference right there. I think if they want to be really fair, they could at least use the middle value and give you 95% or something. But instead, they give you the worst possible grade for every grade you worked hard for. What I discussed above is slightly different from what you were getting at, but in essence I do agree it severely disadvantages students from certain institutions.
  2. I was wondering the same! Also applied in January. Honestly, I'm prepared to reapply early next cycle.
  3. Congratulations on your Ottawa offer! Are you from the West? I live in BC and have two children currently attending school here, so I didn't apply more broadly (with the exception of U of T). Agreed. My theory is that they received too many applications with high stats they simply couldn't turn down, leaving very little room for personal statements to play any meaningful role in the admission process. But honestly who knows. Worst case I can apply early next cycle.
  4. Oh gosh. I hate this cycle lol. I'm pretty certain I'll also get waitlisted if not outright rejected. I'm also waitlisted at U of T... I'm just hoping I hear back from UVic soon. Do you have an offer from any other school? I wish I'd applied to more schools, otherwise I wouldn't be this anxious.
  5. I'm also anxiously waiting to hear back from UVic and UBC, and I just wanna say best of luck and I hope we get in somewhere! 🙏
  6. Have you heard from UVic yet? I can't speak to your chances at UVic as I'm also waiting to hear back from them, but your numbers are really solid. I sincerely hope you get in somewhere!
  7. Sure can! Though I don't think I'll call them until the end of next month. 😅
  8. Thanks for sharing this! I can't believe I might have to wait until May to hear back from them... lol. I'm already too tired of waiting and waiting. Hopefully everything will work out in the end, though!
  9. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one waiting to hear back from UVic Amazing LSAT score btw! Is UVic also your top choice? I'm sure you've been accepted to a handful of other schools with those stats.
  10. Hey thanks for sharing your experience!!! Did you submit your application pretty late? I only applied to a very few schools because I was going to take the Jan LSAT and didn't want to waste money on application fees in the event I did poorly on the test. In hindsight, I probably should've applied to more schools and earlier. I think I'll follow everyone's advice and wait another month or so, and maybe reach out to them after that. Nonetheless it's nice knowing someone else has gone through a similar situation. Thanks again for sharing your experience. It helped calm my nerves!
  11. 3.5 months - that sounds absolutely horrifying! My status was changed to under review only a couple of weeks ago... so like everyone said I should probably hold my breath for a little longer. Thanks for the kind words! I really hope to see everyone in the Fall!!!!!😄
  12. I really hope you're right and UVic still has some seats left to distribute!!!
