  1. Does anyone know which schools have already done OCIs? I know Osgoode has, but anyone else?
  2. does anyone know how many students per firm usually get brought back for in-firms?
  3. I believe BLG sent ITCs this morning. Has anyone heard from McCarthy or Blakes?
  4. Im not sure all firms in Vancouver send ITCs...I've heard some might spontaneously call you on call day. Would be great if someone can confirm this though.
  5. Definitely a good idea to get involved in 1L, as these will be experiences that you can list on your resume during the 2L recruit. Law firms want to see that you're involved and are able to handle commitments outside of school. I've also found from personal experience that having extra-curricular commitments actually made me do better in school, due to the pressure of needing to be better at managing time
  6. Thought I'd get this started...Davies PFO (Western)
  7. Follow up question: Is it possible to attend a reception and a dinner on the same night? I've heard that you can leave a reception at any time, but would doing so leave a bad impression?
  8. When firms invite candidates to dinner, is the dinner a sit-down dinner or is it a mingling event where hors d'oeuvres get passed around? Would the style of the dinner (sit-down vs mingling event) change depending on after-OCI dinner and in-firm dinner? I know different firms have different approaches to dinners, but any information would be appreciated!
  9. Is there anyway for students not on the Dean's Honor List to gauge their class rank? (i.e. top 10%-20% or top 20%-30%). Just wondering, since there is an option to list class rank on the viLawPortal website. Thanks!
  10. Does anyone know how to convert a 1L average at Western into GPA format? Also, is it necessary to provide a GPA for applications, or would a percentage average suffice?
  11. Would torts also be considered a BLL course?
  12. I have a couple of questions from reading through some posts on the career forum: What does it mean when a course is considered a black letter law course? Which of the 1L courses are considered black letter law? Why do black letter law courses seem to be favoured for those going into corporate? thanks!
