  1. I don't want to be too affirmative with my comments because at the end of the day, it's still an educated? guess at best. Anyways, I definitely wouldn't put so much weight on your ps, it really is going to a small factor. If an 3.75 l2 and 164 didn't get you in then either look to your cgpa or improving your lsat. I would also double check that your l2 is correct. You can possibly call Queens and ask what they calculated your l2 as.
  2. Yes but you don't see the people that didn't get in with similar stats. I made the mistake of reading way too much into stats in the accepted threads and I thought I was in with my 161. If you're okay with that slim chance and have other options then of course that's fine. For me I only wanted law school and so my mistake really hurt me.
  3. You need a better lsat for Queens and western imo. I applied to both last cycle with better cgpa and same lsat and didn't even get on waitlist. Got 166 this cycle and got into western in the first round.
  4. Off the bat I would say work harder and try to get a 165+ as your CGPA and l2 are going to be detrimental for you. I could give you percentages on the likelihood of acceptance but honestly you need a 165+, maybe even 167+(unless you have some really great EC's).
  5. Lots of people get in late due to waitlist. Seems like op just got in the last week or two.
  6. Don't know if youve seen the price of a MacBook Air recently, starting price is $1449. $300-600 more than a comparable PC. MacBook pro starting price is $1699. $400-$600 more than a comparable PC (surface laptop 2 is $1249 - also was just on sale for $999). And yes, in most cases, that is with an SSD. I don't what a basic SSD CPU is but SSD prices have fallen drastically in recent years. You can get 256gb SSDs for around $50-80. Tho most PC manufacturers will charge you $100 to $200 for the upgrade from 128gb to 256gb. Apple charges $250.
  7. I'd say most of the flagship windows laptops are considered to have a better keyboard then the MacBook at this point, all microsoft surfaces , lenovo x1, dell xps 13, huawei matebook, etc.
  8. Ill be getting a surface laptop or a surface pro 6. Been using my surface pro since the start of undergrad and really like it. Just deciding on if I want the laptop frame or not. Plus I cant really deal with various apple decisions like going with the touchbar vs touchscreen, quality issues, the keyboard, ios being so closed off etc.

    Dal vs UVic

I went to UVic for undergrad. It's a great place to spend a few years. The city and campus is beautiful. Vancouver and Seattle is a couple hours away. I applied and got into UVic and Dalhousie and would have chosen UVic by far if I hadn't gotten into western (want to practice in Toronto). I was put off by the dalhousie campus and bigger class sizes. Everyone I talked to at the law school at UVic also gave me rave reviews so there's that.
  10. I mean if someone is specifically hiring for a student with an engineering background, it isn't hard to imagine that seeing an Indian undergrad degree might result in a Google search or two about said university. Siliconvalley firms literally prioritize hiring from places like the Indian institutes of technology...
  11. Cc Indian engineering degree: assuming op's admission to great schools also translates to having gone to a great Indian engineering school, his degree would be way more valuable compared to a Canadian engineering degree.
  12. Im sure the 15k+/year saved helps
  13. Can everyone who has been accepted include when they got on the waitlist and when they were accepted off the waitlist. Also would be helpful if you could let us know if you were interviewed as well. Thanks!
  14. You don't have to firm accept to be in the group
  15. So no ones been accepted off the waitlist yet?
  16. Got in this morning. Going to be declining L2: ~3.6-7 Avg lsat prob 162
  17. Waitlisted as well. 166 CGPA: ~3.55 L2: ~3.6-7
  18. Kind of shocked that there is literally not one non-white faculty member 🤨
  19. Just got the offer today GPA w/ drops: 82% Lsat: 166 Probably will decline
  20. Yea I have. I have an offer already from them which I will take if TD don't get their act together. I'm with TD rn and would prefer to stay with them. I just like their apps and services alot more.
  21. Just wondering if anyone here has successfully negotiated with TD for a PSLOC for western? Im in the lower mainland and dealing with reps that arent seemingly familiar with the process. Ive emailed with the scotiabank rep for western and had a seamless offer through email but am looking to negotiate with TD for similar terms. Is there a TD rep for western like there is for scotiabank?
  22. Not necessarily. Some schools will, like uoft, but don't think most will just because of the deadline. Queens last year didn't get back to me until July for example.
