    Seeking Old Outline

Thanks so much! I'll send a message tomorrow.
  3. Hey all, So I'm in a Mergers and Acquisitions class being taught by a devilishly well-dressed Professor Khimji. Exams are looming and I'm searching for an outline, and rumour has it he might have previously taught the course here, would anyone have a copy of an old outline and be willing to share? You'd have the eternal gratitude of a tired 3L! Thanks!!

    Changing Practice Area After Articling?

To clarify: I have committed to articling and am not looking elsewhere in that regard. I'm curious about the profession after articling in the case that I don't receive an offer to return, or if I find that I really want to try my hand in these other areas. Given how difficult OCIs and articling have become over the last few years I would guess that there are many students in a similar position of having taken what they could get and wondering if they can still try something else.
  5. So I'm very lucky and have found a firm to article with that focuses on corporate solicitor work. It is fairly practical, and I like my coworkers. The only thing is I always really pictured myself doing litigation, and I'm really interested in checking out that kind of work. There are also other areas of the law (human rights / labour specifically) that I want to explore but don't really see with our client base. So I'm curious if anybody on here has heard about people transitioning to new areas of law, and specifically going from a pure solicitor practice to litigation, especially when it means leaving a firm. Alternatively, am I crazy to be thinking about this given the market and how hard it is to get articles at all? (I feel a little crazy to even be having these thoughts, I should probably just be grateful I have something lined up).

    Backpack or side bag?

Real talk, you're gonna need both. When you see your textbooks you'll understand. They're massive, you need them more than you think, and they somehow weigh more than what you would expect. Backpack for day-to-day and class. It'll save you a pile of back problems, especially considering you're already gonna be working out less and hunched over a desk more. Get a good briefcase or messenger bag, ideally in leather, for interviews and more formal stuff. They look better with a suit.

    best laptop for law school?

Hmm I'm pretty happy with my latest purchase of gear, but I'm curious how tablets are for law school purposes? I feel like a keyboard or stylus option that is portable and carries a strong battery would be ideal for class and could be plugged into a larger monitor for working in the evening?

    Accepted 2014

Posting a little late, I've been swamped with classes and work. Got in about a week ago, with a 3.6cGPA and 168 LSAT. Strong ECs as well. Just posting for records/comparison sake.

Yes, they accepted me about three weeks ago. (Really should post over there to help keep track). Still prefer Queen's for the community/cost though.

  12. So yes, they view this site occasionally, but I understand that admissions personnel pay little attention to what is posted here. At most they probably wish they could correct our crazy inferences and guesses about law school admissions selections.
