  1. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone knows whether students enrolled in the JD/MBA are able to go on the exchange opportunities offered to 3Ls. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. If that's the case, ignoring the size factor, are there any leading boutique firms in this field? If not, do most lawyers in this field practice in-house at media/entertainment corporations? I apologize if I'm coming across as ignorant in the matter, but I'm just hoping to get a better understanding of the industry and common career paths (which I'm sure are numerous).
  3. Hi everyone, I've tried searching the forums and the internet, but I was wondering if anyone could help me determine which (if any) entertainment law firms in Toronto could be comparable to the seven sisters in size, location and reputation. As always, thanks for your help in advance!
  4. Hey everyone, I was recently accepted to Western Law and am wondering about how much value I will get from doing the combined JD/MBA program. For this hypothetical, let's assume the cost of the program isn't a factor. In other words, if I already have a honours business undergrad and solid interning experience at large international corporations, would the benefits of having an MBA outweigh the extra stress/time constraints that I could use towards other things, such as the Diploma of French Jurisdiction? As well, with my business background, would having the MBA really make me that much more attractive in the job market? Thanks in advance!
  5. Officially accepted!! See you there !
  6. It's been a long, nerve-wracking and anxiety inducing road, but alas, I have received an offer of admission from Western. This is the first acceptance that I've gotten so it feels damn good. To date I've been rejected from UoT and McGill, waitlisted at Windsor and pending for both Osgoode and Queens. Stats: CGPA 3.1, B2 3.6, LSAT 167, very good EC's and work experience, bilingual. I had also received a letter stating they were deferring the review of my file conditional on my last semester's marks, but I was never put on the waitlist. Good luck everyone. The help here has been and still is invaluable to me.
  7. Yeah, other people here and I got this email a couple weeks ago too. I don't know if "everyone" who hasn't been rejected yet has got it (whatever that even means), but the general consensus here is that we're on the "waitlist for the waitlist". At first that might sound bad, but it sure beats rejection as far as I'm concerned.
  8. Lots of penders- including myself. Goodluck everyone!
  9. Got the letter "Deferred Decision for Law" stating that Western wants my transcript from this semester before they make a decision. Is this a positive or negative thing? Not sure how to feel.
  10. Well I can tell you that I'm not access and have nearly identical stats as yours and I still haven't been rejected yet. Very strange, if you ask me.
  11. Waitlisted this morning for single... LSAT: 167 cgpa: 77 Honestly, I'm pretty shocked.
  12. If that's the case I'd bet it would be on the 11th this year, as that's a weekday.
  13. Sorry to hear that. What was your cgpa?
  14. Hi everyone, Just wondering how Western Law (and all other schools) views applicants with a Masters degree. Does this effect their GPA on OLSAS, or is it more of a soft-stat that will help holistically. Thanks
