CGPA 3.0/4.0
Best 2 3.3/4.0
LSAT 165

Great recommendation letters as well. I'm applying to Western, Queens, Windsor, Calgary, Osgoode, and Manitoba.

What do you think?

Are you applying for the next cycle? Head over to the Manitoba forum to figure out how to calculate your index score. They also drop some of your worst credits. I think your GPA is too low for Western and Queens, but perhaps there's a chance later in the cycle. No idea for Windsor and Calgary, but chances are bleak for Osgoode (unless you have some fantastic unique softs).

Probably Windsor and Manitoba. Calgary is unpredictable. Long shot for Western and Queen's but you could get lucky. Osgoode seems unlikely.

Are you an applicant for the current cycle or next cycle? Because you may want to apply to some back-ups, such as TRU, UNB, or Saskatchewan.

Thanks for the responses. I will be applying for the September 2013 year, I'm going to be using my year after graduation to add to my soft credentials. Do you think it matters that I am graduating from a relatively prestigious Sociology program at McGill University (top 20 globally)? I figured Ontario schools other than Windsor would be a long shot unless I end up getting above 165 on my LSAT (the score I posted was just a hypothetical).

I graduated from UofT Engineering, it hasn't helped me yet lol. Good luck on your LSAT.

I have a bit of a different question. I already got into law school but abroad. I was scoring decently on the LSAT in minimal time, could definitely improve it. So...

cGPA = 73% (my uni's scale is out of 9, its weird)
Extra-Curricular Activities: Very strong, especially dealing with things revolving social justice.
B.A. = I finished an honours program in under-grad law. It was tougher than the average program.

Is there any score I could get on the LSAT that would allow me entry into any school here? I know some schools take off the worst year? I already got into law school abroad so I'm merely asking this out of curiosity. I'm definitely the type of person that would benefit from a school that uses the "holistic process" when recruiting.

Thank you, friends!

I got into Windsor this cycle with a much lower cGPA (as well as a dramatic upward trend and extenuating circumstances/documentation...but, again your cgpa is still better than mine), social justice oriented EC's and a 168.

Alberta as well because of their L2 cutoff...If you're considering going abroad, then I'll assume you'd be willing to go out of province in which case there are several Canadian schools where you stand a chance with a strong LSAT.

Prep with focus and write the LSAT before looking outside of Canada...I can't emphasize this enough. It can change everything. Read around this forum for some warnings about going to the UK, US or Australia...it's not a pretty picture

Don't forget that applications for Sept 2013 will be due in October or November 2012 so if you plan on using the year for softs you have to get them in quick.

IMO if you can afford it you'd be better off not applying to graduate and taking a few more courses to bump up your GPA. You have a great LSAT and I'm guessing you had about a 3.5 this year, so a year of As you could be sitting on a 3.6/3.7 + 165 when you apply. That'd make you a mighty competitive candidate and even put you in Osgoode's range.

I know that losing a year's potential salary and a year's tuition is a really high price to pay, but depending on your goals, it may be worth it.

165+ ought to do it. Mind you, we're talking Windsor, UNB, Saskatchewan, TRU, maybe Calgary, but you'd get into law school in Canada.

Also, I won't get into that whole balagan here, but since you mentioned you might be going abroad I really suggest you scour LS.ca for the many, many cautionary tales of law-abroad found in the International forum.
