Experience transferring to UCalgary?

Recommended Posts

Hi There! I'm attempting to transfer to UCalgary for 2L. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has gone this route and would be willing to chat with me about it.

Best,

MNT

U of C rules, best of luck with your transferring.

If you don’t get enough replies I’d recommend contacting one of the class Facebook groups and they could potentially put you in touch with someone who has transferred to U of C recently. Alternatively, the administrative services could possibly help you out through the student ‘government’

Thanks! I'll certainly check your suggestions out.

Fantastic news, I am sure we will come across one another next year. All the best, note course registration is coming up very soon. So if you can find some time to make a course plan, the course/class schedule is available now so ask the main law office for a copy so you know what courses are being offered which semester.

That had totally slipped my mind! Thanks so much, I’ll check in with them.

Does anyone know whether UofC transfers grades or if you're required to submit your past transcripts for job opportunities? I am transferring to an Ontario school and they only give you credit for first year courses but do not convert grades. This requires me to leave the school that I am transferring from on my resume

Sorry, I don’t know the answer to your question. Best of luck.

You should certainly provide the transcript from the school you left from as they will not show on the official transcript of your transferee school

    • Not all courses that I took that could transfer were on the transfer credit list especially upper lvl courses. (Didn’t transfer but they counted for my biologist in training credits) I took a 300 lvl intro to immunology, imin 371 at u of a.
    • Will you be accepting or Windsor? 😊
    • sorry and i realized one more thing- a lot of my courses (fairly content heavy) dont show up on the alberta transfer credit search tool, has that happened to anyone and their course still got transferred? thanks
    • Yup, those Harbourview Condominiums, they seem nice in pics I'm hoping they are in person too lol. Thank you so much for the quick reply and advice, it's very helpful!
    • Hey, are you talking about that complex (might be a duplex not sure) that's right past the bridge? People over-exaggerate the un-safe environment of that side of the bridge. When people say they it's sketchy, they're always referring to like Indian road and Detroit street, which are only 'sketchy' because some houses are boarded up. The complex you're looking at is like a 10 minute walk from that area, and even that area isn't honestly that bad. My opinion is totally objective btw, I've been in Windsor for 22 years and I live in more of a 'suburb' on the opposite side of the city. My advice is that when you go, if you feel like what you see at first sight is safe, then you'll be fine. What you see is exactly what you get, and it is the better part of that neighbourhood.
