Apart from those posts being questionably indistinguishable from spam, I feel like you've abandoned all persuasive power when you have words like "reddit" and eloquent" in the same sentence that you use as some source or argument. 

Not only is the US government already attempting to find a way to tax the currency, which would basically wipe out it's biggest appeal (anonymity), it's also extremely volatile at the moment. If and when people start mass-selling it, it's value will probably plummet. That's on top of companies like Steam pulling support for it so that they don't end up getting scammed with a currency that not only has a high transaction fee, but also has a high chance of losing most of its value very quickly. 

It helps that there is a finite number of bitcoins which helps ground the currency, but if nobody uses it to buy real tangible things, what exactly is the point?
