If I have to fly anywhere on a tight timeline where specific clothing is required - a wedding, an interview, a funeral etc. - I always pack a backup outfit in my carry-on.

By contrast, it is a well known fact that bow ties are the mark of a competition lawyer:  https://www.dwpv.com/en/People/George-N-Addy

Sarcasm? Or delusion, I can't tell.

I was being serious, though perhaps it may be fair to say tax lawyers perhaps more than any others, can dress terribly as long as they know their shit. I think a client will tolerate a really weirdly dressed, or even sloppy tax lawyer who's brilliant but I don't think you can get away with the same in M&A.

Who checks a bag for a 3-4 day trip? Carry-on for life.

People who have shoes/boots/purses/jackets/jewelry for each outfit and have to do their hair and you’re limited with the size of hair products, makeup etc that you can pack?
