Should I go back?

Recommended Posts

This is a troll post, but I haven't received any grades as of today from December and we're starting on Monday so who knows, maybe I failed miserably and shouldn't go back. Doesn't seem like it should take more than a month to receive exam grades.

Dunno what school you're at (I'm at UofT) but I was told by upper years that we typically get grades back towards the end of January just before 1L recruit applications are due.

Okay! I thought it was abnormal but guess not

I'm in a similar boat, with some of my grades missing also. It's good to know that this isn't just something that happens to my school, and that this is normal.

But when I think about what you say above, about the potential of having done miserably, I'm also reminded of something a wise person once told me: ignorance is bliss. Everyone performs better when they believe they're still an A student: and let's be honest, all of us with fragile egos can afford to pretend to be A students until our first set of grades come in  lol

Yeah we're getting our grades back on the 13th. I'm in the same boat as you and every day I get closer to it my anxiety builds.

Just keep your head down and do your work as best you think it should be done until you get feedback (I.e think back to when you were studying for midterms and try to remember when you kicked yourself and said "damn, I wish I did this in september".

i really wish this wasn't the case, i don't care that much about getting the physical exams back, but it would be nice to know the grades sooner as they are so integral to the 1l recruit

If you've done any reading and provided some form of analysis, you probably ended up in the curve. You gotta fuck up pretty badly or do really good to beat the curve.

    • I did it years and years ago but it is an intensive program. Missing five days would be a lot.  I suggest talking to the profs and arranging notes/ review with a trusted peer if you want to do both.  It is an excellent program.
    • I was just waitlisted! Not feeling too optimistic since Windsor is know for waitlisting tons of people. I was really hoping to attend Windsor. 3.64 CGPA, 3.7 L2 ,153 (december), 157 (february) LSAT good EC's and LOR's.  Good luck to everyone else who has been waitlisted!
    • Why would you dry clean a cotton dress shirt? Pro-tip.  The newer non-iron shirts are great.     Unless ironing is your thing (not judging).
    • A lot of newer dress shirts can be washed (some even say not to dry clean), so if you keep an eye on the tags when you’re buying them you’ll be okay  Good luck this summer!
    • So I really wanted to complete the International Law Program at the Bader Castle next year; however, my very close cousin is getting married next year in the beginning of June. I cannot miss this wedding but I also really want to take part in the Bader program at the end of first year because in second year, I would want a summer job. For those who have done the Bader castle program before, would it be okay if I missed a few days of the program? I know it would put a bit of a dent in my wallet, but say I flew out for about 5 days to attend the program, would that be feasible?  Also, for those who have attended the Castle program in general, what are your thoughts on it? Is it worth it, how did you like it, what financial help is available etc.
