hello again! so I finally figured out the mystery of the 169 LSAT rejection! My lovely undergrad institution sent out my fall transcripts without my fall marks on it...*facepalm* Obviously, we can't be sure that this was the real reason I was rejected, but I hope this info soothes some high LSAT, low GPA people reading this. There is still hope for you guys!

Sorry to hear, you should be in elsewhere however. What was your OLSAS CGPA if you don't mind sharing?

What is happening at UO?

I was waitlisted with 3.4 and 155 last cycle

your stats are pretty good and should have a shot

In the past Ottawa has created ridiculous waiting lists (like a 300 person list compiled in July 2 cycles ago, that only 20-30 people were admitted from). I suspect that the differences this year are not a matter of Ottawa being more selective, but rather, more decisive.

Whaaa? I'm really not understanding Ottawa's decision making this cycle, though I guess that's nothing new. Sorry to hear, mgold.

Is it possible they figure it's not going to accept their offer anyway with stats like that so they don't want to make it and clog up a spot until he rejects them?

I think this year Ottawa is rejecting the top applicants just to change things up a bit... lol

Abe, that kind of nonsensical response is inappropriate. Same goes for you, theiva. Please don't do it again.

Joking about admissions standards is inappropriate, but a barrage of jokes about a potential gun crime by an Osgoode law student isn't?

Not trying to stir the pot, but a little consistency perhaps?

yeahman, I don't see it so much as a matter of consistency. Although I do think that the comments in the Osgoode thread lack the humour that others seem to see, and that it has become less and less funny as the comments pour in, my guess is that there has been minimal moderation applied there because we tend to let things pretty much follow a free speech atmosphere here, with a few exceptions. My reason for commenting here is that it's a specific Rejected discussion thread and is filled with stressed out applicants waiting for news. I don't think it's a stretch to say that people should limit their joking around in this situation, and, of course, there is the never-ending hope that people will keep a discussion on topic.

I do admit that consistency is a difficult task on a forum with as many members, and posts, as we have here. You're depending on very busy volunteers who pop in and out when we can and we can't be on top of every discussion. We're fortunate, in that, most of our members are respectful and helpful, and when they're not, we handle it expeditiously. The mods have discussions like this off the forum frequently and things evolve over time in an effort to improve the workings of ls.ca. We do our best but can always do better. :)

And now back to our originally scheduled programming.

Jebediah Lawstudents: People, our search is over! On this site we shall build a new town where we can worship freely, govern justly, and grow vast fields of hemp for making rope and blankets.
Top-law-schools Manhattan : Yes! And marry our cousins.
Jebediah Lawstudents: I was- wha... what are you talking about, Top-law-schools? Why would we want to marry our cousins?
Top-law-schools Manhattan: Because they're so attractive. I... I thought that was the whole point of this journey.
Jebediah Lawstudents: Absolutely not!
Top-law-schools Manhattan : I tell you, I won't live on a site that robs men of the right to marry their cousins!

Impressive LSAT, no doubt. But to clear up some confusion, a 3.54 B2 could mean a cgpa of sub 3.0 or treading that mark. Since the consensus is that Ottawa U is very cgpa-centric, then why would we be surprised by this??

My cGPA is 3.26, I was hoping they would wait to see my final 4th year grades. I was under the impression that they look at your best 2 years. Obviously mistaken.
