Hate to be the one to start this, but I was dusted today. Not surprised though.

Stats:

GPA: 2.9 (Olsas)
MA: 3.7
LSAT: 163

Sorry to hear the news.

If you don't mind, by what means did you find out? (infoweb, email, snail mail, etc.)

Sorry to hear Bonin. At least you do have an acceptance in hand already. You shouldn't be too bummed out about this.

This is ridiculous. Sorry to hear and I'm sure you'll get into many schools.

To the OP, congratulations on your acceptance to Manitoba and good luck with the rest of the cycle.

You should call them. This doesn't sound right.

I did haha. Apparently, they started rejecting people last week, and that CGPA was simply their biggest factor. By the way, thanks everyone for being so nice! Hopefully I'll hear better news from Queen's soon :)

I just checked and I'm still a contender but my stats are way below yours. Maybe they are handling mature student applications later. But 169, wow, you should be able to walk into any law school in Ontario with that score. I thought I saw some mid-160s in at U of T.

The Accepted topic and the Rejected topic are sending me on a roller coaster.

169, 3.50 = Rejected but 163, 3.36 = Accepted. And me lying inbetween on both gpa and lsat :(
Dyin here.

FWIW I have a buddy who got into Queen's with a $10,000 merit scholarship last cycle. His stats were exactly 3.5/169. Best of luck!

so... what happens to my application with cgpa 3.6 and 161?

This is madness. I'm not sure what else to say?! how is a rejection with those stats even possible? I could maybe bend my mind behind a waitlist, MAYBE, but a rejection?! My cgpa is comparable but lsat way lower, somehow I don't have a rejection... yet (not complaining at all!) but seriously how does this make sense?

cGPA 3.5 and LSAT 169 is very good stats. what is your best 2 and last 2.
Is that undergrad cGPA or Master?

I can't believe Ottawa will reject you let lone this early in the cycle.

I can only imagine that you may have a typo such as University of OOttaawwaa

Can not figure out any other reason

what are EC and LOR like ?

I am equally surprised at the 3.5/169 rejection. Did you use any racist language in your PS (just kidding)?

Maybe an LOR back fired.

Despite my racist beliefs, I managed to bite my tongue (again kidding). My best two were probably around the same as my CGPA, although my average this past semester was 3.75. My EC's were pretty good, and one LOR was from a political figure that I worked for, another from a prof. Trust me, as confused as you guys are, I feel it tenfold.

Lawlady1, did you take a full course load throughout undergrad? Full course load as in 5 half year classes per term, 10 in a year?
I know some students with stellar stats were denied acceptance because they took a "full-time course" load which was not necessarily a full course load while in their undergrad.

Question about course load - would taking 4.5 credits in my 4th year be okay if I took 6 full credit courses in my third year (two 0.5 credit courses in the summer)?

Yes - my last semester I only had 9 credits left to take, so had 3 courses and it wasn't an issue for any school.
