Just wondering how many of you out there have completed, and done well in, LSAT sections while completing them in a significantly shorter period of time than allotted (so, in fewer than 35 minutes). In my experience, I have once completed a RC section with 8 minutes to spare (on test date) whereas with the other two section types where I am much weaker (LR, AR) I generally run right into the 35 minute time limit or finish maybe a minute or so before at the very maximum.

It depended on the test really, but I always tried to pace myself, especially in LR. There's no need to finish with 8 minutes left. Unless you're scored perfect, that unnecessary speed likely caused you some accuracy. It's no good to be down to the wire, but I think an idea situation is finishing a section in 32 or 33 minutes, giving you time to look over anything you were unsure of and double check to make sure your bubbling in was correct.

I agree with this to an extend. If you've done your BEST, then finishing as fast as possible is highly beneficial.
Say my LR ceiling is -3. If I can get a -3 in 30 minutes, that gives me 5 minutes to put my head down and rest for the next section... Then again, its always better to be thorough than quick.

Generally having 4 mins or so after a section is ideal. It all depends on the section and your strengths. I could finish some LG sections in 25 minutes perfectly in practice but come test day it took me 33 mins to grab a -3. I usually had 4 minutes to spare at the end of LR sections during practice, had the same during the real deal with my average scores. RC was down to the wire though. I was definitely not prepared for the RC section on test day. My only shortfall. You can always afford to be faster but I think many people underestimate the importance of accuracy on this test. I believe that it should be a 50/50 balance but then again I only cracked a 163.

It definitely depends on the test, but I've finished LG with as many as 10 minutes to spare and maybe 7 minutes in RC and LR. I like to finish with 2 minutes to spare for my own peace of mind.

I often finished LR sections in 31-32 minutes (usually -1 or -2) and spent the rest of it checking my work.
Goddamn it was tempting to peek at the reading comp section (where I NEVER finished all four passages, and sometimes didn't even finish three) but I never did.

My best performance in terms of speed/accuracy is 27 minutes for a score of 20/26 on PrepTest #34 RC (Section 1).

My proudest moment was 25 min for a perfect LG section. But I have never finished a LR and RC section early.
