Hey guys,

I've been studying for the Feb LSAT (I wrote before in June 2011 and got a 162, but I'm trying for the U of T last hurrah), and I've been consistently PTing at 170-172 (like 7 or 8 times)...except for the last test I did-- I got a 161. Now I know this is not a bad score at all, so please don't take this post in the wrong way. I just find it really disconcerting to get this result so close to test day when I've been scoring consistently higher. What really worries me is that I didn't really feel that I was having an 'off' day so I was completely suprised by my result...

I'm also a little worried that I've been doing too many older tests for my PTs as this test where I scored lower was a more recent test. Should I be worried?

Has this happened to others? How do you 'bounce' back from an outlier? I am worried if I write another bad test it will totally destroy my confidence. Any advice would be so greatly appreciated!

I've been scoring 160-162 in my PTs and just had one last week that dropped to 155. On reviewing I really messed up a logic game.... Made an inference incorrectly and right there I lost five points. So maybe it was just a fluke like that?
Have you analyzed where you went wrong?
Unfortunately I think those fluke scenarios happen. Let's just hope it doesn't the day of the test.

I've had the same thing happen to me. It's really disheartening, but don't let it get you down and don't panic. If you've consistently been PTing at 170-172 you didn't all the sudden lose all your LSAT skills, it's just an anomaly. Like Jaspri said, look over your test and see if you made a some blatant errors.

I know test day is coming up fast, but taking a day off can be very helpful. You can most definitely over study/psyche yourself out.

Edit: I've also found that how I'm feeling while writing the test isn't always of indicative of my score. Sometimes I'll be sitting a writing a test when I'd really rather be napping and get a 172 and other times I'll feel really on the ball and write a 166. The LSAT can be an enigma like that.
