After a lot of debate about which direction i was going to head after i finished my degree i have finally decided to go through with writing the LSAT in June. I was able to procure a ton of practice tests along with some study material, i have all the Powerscore bibles and a bunch of practice exams but they seem to be a little bit dated. Will the fact that these study guides are 7-8 years old have any negative effect regarding test preparation?

the only thing that the newer version of the LSAT has that is missing from the older practice tests are the two viewpoint passages in the RC section. Those can be quite difficult

There is nothing wrong with the older versions. With the LG, after learning the different types you can take the games from the new sections and group them with the ones in your old bible. Too the older games are harder IMO. If you're acing the ones from the 90s the only real challenge is grasping the newer "rule changing" questions and the hybrid sequencing games that blend "pure" and "strict" rules.

As others have said, working from older tests/books isn't really going to disadvantage you, but I would pick up this book of tests so you can practice comparative reading.

LG are more difficult in the older tests - RC is more difficult in the newer tests, IMHO.

You can practice with older material, but you should also do 10-15 practice tests from the 40s, 50s, and 60s. I also recommend looking at the Manhattan LSAT books. IMO they have equally good or superior diagramming methods for all game types except in-out grouping.

Hey, I have both the newer and older version of the bibles, and there is no significant difference btw the two. But I would definitely make sure to get my hands on the newer preptests

As long as you have some that are also 2007+ (I think that's when comparative reading started), then yes.

Sure, but make sure you have some of the newest ones, that is, 58-65, because of the comparative passages and the weird twists with the logic games (e.g. rule substitution).
