I got a missed call from UofOttawa. I called back but all I got was the answering machine. Any reason as to why they might have called me? Its a long distance call and Im cheap so i dont want to keep caling and calling.

It's a little ridiculous that you'd let an in-country city to city call (what's that cost you? 25 cents?) prevent you from finding out what a law school wants from you but since you bring it up just call them at 1-877-868-8292 toll free and to be transferred to law admissions.

thanks for the number, ive been calling them but I hadnt been in contact with anyone. Thanks anyways. Being from Manitoba is definetly more than 25 cents.

I got a call from them as well - it was a 2L calling to congratulate me on my acceptance and ask if I had any questions about UOttawa, the law school, the program, etc. They'll call back another night if they missed you (I missed a call from the same number last week and they just called back again tonight).

Hi theiva4 - had you already been accepted to Ottawa? Or are they now calling people to tell them they've been accepted?

I missed the call a week ago, but they called again last night. If you have ANY questions about Ottawa I would suggest writing them down so you don't forget. The 2L woman who called me was very helpful, friendly, and funny. I also asked her about her study habits and taking short-hand notes opposed to typing notes during class and her opinions of each. Don't miss out on your chance to ask someone about any aspect of law school you can think of. I have to admit, it made this decision much harder as Ottawa does sound like a fantastic school.

bit jealous I didn't get a call after acceptance, they must really like you two in any case.

When talking to Ottawa they mentioned that some scholarships are given out in February. Has anyone else heard this or received a scholarship this month?

I was wondering about that too. I sent them a quick email asking when they gave out scholarships/if they had already done so and the reply I received was extremely general and didn't address it at all.

I was accepted at the beginning of December, but only received the call a week ago so I'm sure you'll get one too.

Yes they're given out in February, but I don't think you'll get one until next year. I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure even ppl with entrance scholarships don't get the $$$ til Feb
