I believe it may be worse than that. I think "America" actually refers to both South and North America, thus TWO continents.

I view America as the continent spanning from Drake's passage to the north pole.

It infuriates me to hear people refer to the US as America.

Does it also upset you to hear peopel refer to US citizens as Americans?

Give it up; you've lost this one.

In my UBC Law class I'd guess there were probably about 20 asians or 10% of the class. It was super duper white. I'd love to see actual numbers though.

^^ This. I just realized that I wasn't clear in my original post that I was comparing UBC Law to the general UBC population. UBC generally --> probably 40% East Asian, 20% South Asian, 40% White. UBC Law --> 80% White (looking), 10% East Asian, 10% misc other.

I say "white looking" because there's a large number of white-skinned students with aboriginal heritage who quite proudly identify as such, along with many other non-visible minorities who are also quite proudly non-WASP. Being a WASP myself I can't really comment on how the experience would have been otherwise, but take what you will from my observations.

ninja edit: I suppose that when I refer to "White Anglo-Saxon Protestants" I should note that practically none of them are practicing. Law students at UBC are overwhelmingly athiest or agnostic, and those that aren't are usually rather quiet about it.

I agree with Denning's breakdown of UBC law (although maybe slightly more East Asian than 10%, but just slighty). Just wanted to add that as a non-WASP, I have found UBC Law to be great and no problems/issues among students at all with any differing ethic/religious/sexual orientation groups.
