Been sitting on this one for a while, but I've just decided to accept my offer (L2:3.6 LSAT:167)

fls123, did your friend's Beartrack change as well, or was it just an informal email?

Hey, just an informal e-mail!

last 60 credits are a 3.6? Congrats! This seems a bit too good to be true

The cutoff is 3.7/159. I doubt they dropped it another point so soon (although I think it'll go another point or two yet) so you're probably smarter than you think. :) Either GPA calc is off or you're taking your last, not averaged last and it's higher? But congrats nonetheless!!!

Only wrote once. Self calculated is based on the grading table they have on their website for conversion from % to Gpa. If that's wrong then it's wrong. It comes out to be slightly higher than the OLSAS one because of the A and A+ being the same but it is still a 3.6 according to my spreadsheet. I do have more than the required credits in my L2 though but I don't believe UoA drops any courses if over the min credits.

UofA does round up, and they take your last 60 credits but will take more if they need to break into a semester. In that case, everything from FALL/WINTER and SPRING/SUMMER is taken together. I have the same stats and my beartracks is still on "decision pending"...

Yep, took the rounding into account. Ok, so no drops and they didn't need to break into a sem. I just have extra credits in the L2.

If you convert to a 3.8 your LSAT would be 156. So your 1 point away.

My understanding was that it was a .1GPA : 2 LSAT point tradeoff. If Bergkamp's been accepted with a 3.6/159, then a 3.5/161 should be good, right?

I think they may miscalculated. B states they self calculated so the possibility exists.

Hey b!
Thanks. Atm, still leaning towards Calgary as it is/was my first choice but doing some more research on Alberta because my dad is more fond of it - mainly because he knows nothing about UoC (they're program must have just started around the time he was finishing school lol) - and I would possibly save some money in Edmonton if I live with a family member there (significantly less debt post-graduation is a good reason to me ;-) ). I'm just trying to get a feel for the environment at UoA and whether I would fit in. There are personal pros and cons to both schools but to my knowledge I don't think there's much overall difference.

Definitely a possibility I miscalculated. I based it on their website but I'm not sure if that's how they do it. My school didn't function on GPAs so maybe they just looked at %? meh, who knows.

Edit: fixed the 'there' to 'their'

The deadline to give your deposit for those accepted in this last batch is May 11! So in about another three weeks and there should be another batch of offers!

Hey all,

Just thought I would update. I declined my offer today, so another spot will be opened up for the next round of offers. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

From creeping the thread it seems that the latest accept deadline was this past friday May 11.

Hopefully that means some new offers will be going out soon.

Really now, hopefully that means there was a lowering of the admit standard.

Do physical offers go out first before beartracks is updated? Has anyone seen their beartracks update prior to receiving an offer in the mail?

First one was june 2010 (161) second was feb 2011 (155) How I managed to get a score lower than anything I had even come close to in practice is a mystery that haunts me to this day.
