If you really want to go to Law School you definitely should apply again next year (though don't lose hope for this year, yet!); I remember reading posts of some people who got in only on their third attempt...
In terms of what I did differently, essentially I followed all the suggestions made in the adcomm's comments, which included: taking the LSAT, writing a more McGill specific PS, better references, and more mention of my French proficiency. And no, I did not make any reference to my previous application in my PS...
Good luck!

Thanks. I really want to go to law school but I would rather graduate before I'm in my forties though! But you know what...? I realized that I really don't care about this age thing anymore, I'll get there when I'll get there and I won't give up. Being RFR for 6 month it's a lot of time for thinking, it actually has done me some good !
Enjoy McGill Law Avocado!!

I honestly think I just lucked out. I believe I have such a different application than most, what with my theatre degree and the fact that I've been living abroad for the last 3+ years. I'm even half a francophone, with my mother coming from Montreal. My stats aren't the best, but somehow they agreed that I belong there! I'm over the moon today!

3.7 GPA
161 average LSAT
French was one of my majors.
Finished undergrad a year early.
Was told "particularly impressed by your thoughtful and and compelling personal statement and the very positive impression you made on your referees." (I had a head of department, prof, and a priest.)
It's between here and Dal, but I'm only waiting on Dal for my parents' sake.
