Applying in this category - anyone admitted in ottawa from this category? with what kind of stats? do they really care about it?
My stats:
CGPA: 3.4 (rough first year, i have applied in the category for this reason)
L2: 3.7
LSAT: 158
Honours degree, Good ECs and LoRs
Do i have a shot?

Yes. I believe so. If you've made a strong enough case for your "special circumstance" and your PS was outstanding, you have a decent chance.

3.7 is a decent GPA. I think you have a shot even outside of the special circumstances category.

I am applying as an Aboriginal and mature applicant. My GPA is 3.3 and LSAT score is 153 (was not happy). I have lots of volunteer experiences and international experience. What are my chances of getting into the University of Ottawa? Thanks!

Where else did you apply?
While I don't know anything about the access category, I do know hat L2 / 158 is quite good and should make you admissible at one of the many fine schools that do not look at cGPA (at least based on when I went through the process).
I'd say that you'd have a fair shot of getting admitted to UWO or Queen's late in the cycle (both of which are schools I'd take over uOttawa in a heart beat).
Additionally, you'd also be a virtual shoe in for most of the non-ON law schools that do best 2/3, last 2/3.

You'll probably get in. My friend was admitted last year with a 3.4 and a 148 LSAT in aboriginal category.
Someone got in last year to UofT with your stats through aboriginal.
I wish I could apply through this category.

I also applied to Queens, Western, Oz, Windsor, Dal and McGill!
