Hey everyone,

Sorry for another chances thread, but I had to do it! I would like to know my chances for UofO...

cGPA: 3.5/3.6 (this will go up when my last year is completed.)
GPA (Best 2): 3.8
LSAT: 156
EC's: good.
PS: Still polishing, but it looks good so far.
LORs: Strong.

Let me know what you guys think! (fingers crossed)

I believe your cGPA is competitive (perhaps on lower end), but your lsat is a bit low. However, the trend seems to be that Ottawa doesn't care that much about LSAT (but to what extent, I'm not sure). I guess that's the longer way of saying that I think you have a chance, but that you certainly aren't a lock. If it helps, I was admitted in early april with a ~3.6 and a bit of a higher lsat.

Thanks schroed! I really hope I get in, it is my first choice school. But maybe others will take me as well, as I am applying to a few others.

Fair chances of acceptance.

Your cGPA is relatively low, which is what Ottawa weights heavily. From my experiences, they prefer to see a full-set of undergraduate grades before offering admission.

Your LSAT is fine for Ottawa. I would focus on your grades this year.

Also, tailor your PS to Ottawa and be very specific of how a legal education at the University of Ottawa will help you reach your specific career/academic goals.

What's your cGPA? And what are your ECs like / how confident are you with your PS?

Also, how much has changed since last years stats? I guess 1 years worth, but what WAS your gpa they got last year? How far were u waitlisted with those stats?

Yeah, what did you change from this cycle/last cycle - i.e. is your cGPA no longer in the gutter, LSAT raised, etc... Those stats seem pretty good to me.

Based on last years stats of people who got in with 3.4s and 3.5s you should be good if the rest of your application is strong :)

Good luck.

So ottawa is my first choice, i love the city and am actually finishing up my undergrad degree here this year.

What are my chances?....

OLSAS CGPA 3.59
Best 2 3.675
Uottawa CGPA 8.0

Three reference letters (2 great ones from a couple of professors, and 1 great personal one)
Good list of specific extracurriculars including being the project manager of two exhibitions this year, one with 7 individuals who were homeless/ or are dealing with mental ilness and the other exhibition is with 35 students.
My PS was extremely Ottawa centric where i very specifically stated my aspirations as a lawyer.

I bombed my LSAT in June (with a 147 but my grandmother has passed away almost exactly before the test) and just rewrote the test yesterday and expect to get probably a 154 . :(

What are my chances? do i have any at all ?

Probably not. Ottawa is a CGPA school and without a stellar GPA it seems, from last years acceptances, you need a 160+ LSAT.

I would re-write to bring up to 160+ and you should be ok.

Quite good. LSAT seems to be around the average, while your CGPA is very good.

I'd say you're in. Probably not until after x-mas. Most getting in now seem to have similar GPA and 160+ LSAT.

Chances are fairly low. Ottawa is a CGPA school.

I rewrote the Lsat and increased (minimally) to a 152 but i was able to increase my average from 3.59 to a 3.63 or 3.64. Do i still have no chance at getting in here?
