So,
I've got a 3.05 cGPA and a 3.635 last two years
My first year marks were very low, as I faced some problems outside of school.

LSAT score of 165, with a PS that addressed my situation - is there enough of a chance for me that I should apply?

Thoughts?

You probably won't get into Ottawa. However, I all but guarantee that you'll get into at least one school in Ontario.

No need to stress. Just apply everywhere and be happy when all of the acceptances come in.

Ottawa will almost certainly reject you, they are almost exclusively interested in your cGPA and should be last on your list along with U of T.

Hum... I hear this a lot about the ottawa admissions process, hoping it bodes well for my chances. I've always felt so-so about my lsat (160) but have always been happy with my GPA (c.gpa 87%, 3.85).

jsteele, I know someone whose stats were almost identical to yours, who got in off the waitlist in late July.

Really eh? Interesting. I was readying the "admitted 2011" thread and quite a few peeps with similar stats to mine or even a bit lower got in as early as Nov-Dec.

It is interesting. I think Ottawa is one school that is very difficult to predict with any degree of certainty, based solely on numbers. The person I referenced wished that they had made the effort to rewrite the LSAT, which may or may not have made a difference. Who knows.

Just a friendly word of caution not to take what anyone says to heart in regard to your question ("what are my chances...?) - I doubt that any member of the admissions committee responds to questions asked on this forum, so at best you've got people who really don't have *too much* insight into process. I also posted the same question last year and got varying responses (+ and -). So at the risk of sounding cheesy, trust your instincts :)
(If it helps my cGPA wasn't super high, I have a Master's degree, and my LSAT score was absolutely terrible! - and I got in to both the English and French CL programs. There is hope!)

Good luck to everyone!

But based on your stats, did you really need to even post this as a question. Simple research into the "admitted" thread would have given you the exact same information that we are really only guessing at.
