Well, it came up elsewhere, and at least someone has followed up with me by private message. Considering that paralegals are now regulated by the Law Society in at least one large jurisdiction (Ontario) and I understand others are looking at it, could we give them a space here on this board? Just one sub-forum would do it, I'd imagine, unless/until it gets busy enough to divide into different areas.

And yes, in case anyone is wondering, paralegal students are "law students" in a legitimate sense as much as most anyone else here is. According to legal profession generally, you are not a "student at law" until you are articling. Before then, you're just a student who happens to be studying law stuff - and so are paralegals, really.

I think this is a good idea.

I am a little worried about what will happen when some of our more status-seeking members wind up exposed to people to whom they will feel naturally superior. But better to go ahead and see what happens, and make any corrections with the benefit of hindsight.
