  1. Refused 2018

I meant to say that I'm a member of a visible minority which is something McGill did give the option to fill in in the Minerva application. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like McGill's diversity factor comes from international students more than anything (21% of the students belonged to a racialized minority in 2017 : https://www.mcgill.ca/law/files/law/mcgill_law_bcl-llb-admissions_flyer.pdf). From what I know, immigrants and racialized Quebecers (such as I) were excluded from McGill's pool of CEGEP students called for an interview at my institution (5 students were called). Obviously it is probably because their files weren't as strong. I wouldn't speculate on anything other than that! I'm off topic but I wanted to rectify my comment and answer your question about the racial makeup of McGill's classes.
  2. Refused 2018

CEGEP student here : Got refused yesterday morning towards 11 am. My status on Minerva changed to Refused. Later that day (8 pm), I received an e-mail from the faculty to notify me of the decision and that the official, refusal generic letter was available on Minerva. R Score : 32,65 Good ECs : Just this semester : 60 hours of volunteering in tutoring other students of my CEGEP, more volunteering, scholarship from the school, philosophical text published in the teachers’ journal of the school, philosophical talk in front of teachers and students, my own art exhibition with artwork focused on mental health, participation to school committees, etc. Good (I think (I did not see them)) LOR from teachers I was satisfied with my personal statement and asked two McGill law students to review it Ethnic minority if it's worth anything I’m giving a lot of details for future CEGEP lurkers of this forum! I think my grades did me in. I also think they are following a list with the R scores before denying CEGEP students as my friend with 0,1 more than me was refused the week before me. Needless to say I'm disappointed with the decision, but I’m glad I finally know so I can move on. I’ll be attending at Université de Montréal which I’m excited about! I hope the best for the people that are still waiting !!!
  3. I checked my Minerva ten times today. It is making mi-nervas!

(CEGEP applicant here) McGill received mine on March 5th and they did not resend a transcript ever since. I admit it is pretty weird! Still waiting for a call for an interview but I've pretty much lost all hope
  4. Accepted at McGill 2018

CEGEP students : Today (Wednesday) and last Wednesday, CEGEP applicants from my school got calls for an interview. So far, at least 4 have been called. I heard from one of my teachers that if McGill receives two or more LOR from a teacher, they call them to ask which student would be more suited to study law at McGill. Apparently, McGill doesn't bother calling the other candidates the teacher made a LOR for... A girl I know asked the same teacher as I for a LOR and she got called today. She has a 36 + R score while I only have a 32,656 one... Can someone confirm if this is true? I'm pretty worried. Thank you and good luck for everyone still ''ready for review'' :')
  5. Accepted at McGill 2018

From which CEGEP are you? And what's your R score? If I were you I would rather not because the scolarship only applies if you decide to accept the offer of that university. Therefore, you wouldn't receive their money if you were to enter McGill... (Correct me if I'm wrong) I would only put prizes/scholarships that are actually tangible and that you will definitely receive. For instance, I received a 500$ scholarship (not much but still) from my cegep and I did update my CV on April 8th because of it. Nonetheless it's really awesome that you got an entry scolarship for your grades, congrats!
  6. Admission automne 2018

  7. Hi guys, I'm a CEGEP candidate and i'm still waiting to get an answer/interview from McGill. I JUST received a scholarship/bourse which highlights my grades and community engagement from my CEGEP, but it doesn't appear on the CV I submitted to McGill since I uploaded it in the beginning of March. Have any of you guys uploaded a new version of your CV after the deadline? Do you guys do that everytime there's something relevant to add? Would it be confusing for the admission office if I update my CV now? Sorry if it may seem obvious, but I just want to make sure that I don't mess anything up :'). Thank you very much!!! Good luck to all of you
  8. Accepted at McGill 2018

Did any CEGEP candidate get a call for an interview? As for College de Bois-de-Boulogne, no one that I know that applied (6-8 ppl) got an answer as of now...... The wait is killing me!!!
  9. Accepted at McGill 2018

No one from the CÉGEP Bois-de-Boulogne got called for an interview yet (as of March 30th). So I guess McGill is still in the process of giving cégep candidates calls. Let's not lose hope guys!
  10. Accepted at McGill 2018

Thank you so much!!! I'm a CEGEP applicant, and I was wondering how long you had to wait between the call/email they gave/sent you to set the date of the interview and the interview itself? I'd like to know how much time I'd have to prepare myself for the interview, if they ever grant me one ( dying here :') ). Also CONGRATULATIONS mootqueenJD69 :D!
  11. Law school- University of Sherbrooke, UDEM

I was admitted to UdeM on March 8th with a 32,656 R score. Still waiting on McGill, even though they probably won't grant me an interview, especially since I come from CEGEP :(. Goodluck to you!
