  1. Thats a good question. I might have applied under both (I honestly cannot remember now) because i am in my mid 40s and have been working for 20 years or so but I also referenced (in my personal statement) some significant health issues I have been managing in my mid 40s. I actually emailed Queen's a few days ago to ask if there was any point in mailing my Winter 2017 grades (I returned to school part time for a second undergrad in 2016) and they said if it would increase my CGPA it could increase my 'rankings'. I took that to mean that a) I wasnt rejected yet (which I guess is good news) and b) they are still sorting through applicants.
  2. Is there a logic or sequence to the Queen's rejections? Just curious..my stats are significantly worse than some of the posters who have been rejected and my file still says 'PENDING'. Obviously, it would be great to have a decision asap but I was just wondering if there was an order or logic to this process.
  3. No..not at all. LORS: 2 from a current manager and a former manager, 1 from a professor. I actually never read them but my feedback from Western indicates they were very good. I will likely use the same sources in the next cycle. I had asked my employment references to illustrate how what I do at work would allow me to succeed at law school. ECs: I didnt have any in the traditional sense. But I work for full time as a risk analyst for an investor protection fund (regulatory) and have been in the securities industry for 15 or so years. I also play competitive chess (which I highlighted in the PS). I focused my PS on wanting to gain experience in regulatory and administrative law since that is where my career has been focused. I am not sure there is much I can change in this area for the next cycle. I hope that helps!...
  4. So its 'Pending' even if you're rejected?
  5. My stats are worse than yours so I expecting a reject email/update soon...I am too am a mature student ...though significantly older (45 with 22 years full time work experience)
  6. Yes, I filled in part B. Stats: LSAT ..147 ( yes, very weak I know..almost demands an immediate rejection). GPA: First undergrad in 1993....GPA was 2.7....second undergrad (continuing at this point) is 8.3 (..thats a York U GPA and I can't be bothered to do the conversion to the OLSAS right now)....I am still working full time on Bay Street as an investment analyst (I took a bunch of industry courses/con-ed courses)...decided to return to school after serious illness diagnosis..yada, yada, yada, wanted to to go to law school before anything permanent happens to me if you get my drift.... I actually did get constructive feedback from Western (thank you Western!!!...I actually did very much appreciate that) on my app...and the LSAT was the nail in the coffin. My 'LORs' were very strong and was were my ECs but the reality is that LSAT buried any chance I had. Oh well...now I know for next year.
  7. Went into the queue Feb 10/2017.
  8. Ugh....no unexpected but still soul crushing like a 10,000 lb steamroller running over an ant hill.......all the same...there's always next year...right???? DateApplication Status 05/09/2017Your application for admission for Fall 2017 has been carefully considered and regrettably, was not successful. We appreciate the continued interest you showed and wish you every success in your future endeavours. Please note that we will not be able to comment on your application until the conclusion of this year's admissions cycle. After August 31st, you may contact the Admissions Office with your inquiries by sending an email to [email protected]
  9. I have similar stats (though I am a 'mature' student FWIW) and I have been in the 'queue' since Feb 10, 2017...so I am now expecting the same result. I wish you luck the next cycle...your positive attitude is contagious...I too am going rewrite the LSAT and focus like a laser on it over the summer.
  10. I feel 3 inches tall writing this but I received my first (of what I am sure will be many) rejection: Ottawa.
  11. I don't have a rejection/acceptance notice to post but I do wonder if mature students are rejected/admitted much later (as in late April/May) in the cycle. I have seen posts on this website for rejections for Windsor/Ottawa and I think even for Western. My 'stats' are abysmal (despite a 3.9 GPA in a return to part time studies after 20 years work experience in finance) and I have yet to be rejected (I assume its just around the corner). I did put a lot of work in the PS (it was the opposite of social justice though - more along the lines of regulatory risk management and investor protection ) and hopefully my LORs were ok (honestly I didnt read them before they were submitted) but I thought I would have definitely fallen into the auto reject bucket by now.
  12. Is it possible to send winter semester (Jan-April/York U) marks to OLSAS to update a file? Should one even bother at this point ? ..I haven't received any rejections yet but I assume they're coming soon. I don't know if Winter marks will make a difference at this point (in my case likely not...but whatever works).
  13. 'They also probably have an idea of who they're not going to admit (for the schools that haven't sent out rejections yet).' Apparently Ottawa has already sent out some rejections (according to some other posters).
  14. My money would be on the 2nd week of April...I am a little surprised some schools sent out rejections already. I would have expected them to wait till April/May.
  15. Wow...my stats are abysmal (mature student) and my file still reads 'under evaluation'....I wish they would get it done and over with and just send me the 'are you kidding me???' email...
