  1. OSC Interviews

I found them to be a lot like in-firm interviews. We mainly talked about a few points on my resume, my interests, talked about them, why I was interested in the OSC, and if I had any questions for them.
  2. Is it important to apply to 1L recruit?

If you want to travel this summer, you should. As others have mentioned, travelling for the whole summer is unwise - you should also be doing something to gain work skills. For the FT/PT part: If you don't want to, or are lucky enough where you have the option of not working full-time, I personally don't think you have to. Anecdotally, I know a few people who only worked/volunteered part-time during their 1L summer. Even though they were only working 15-20 hours/week, they were still learning and gaining skills and meaningful experiences that they could talk about that was applicable/transferable to the jobs that they were applying to/interviewing for in 2L. Based on my experiences, employers have never asked me about the hours that I worked in previous positions, only about what I did in those positions. And you don't put down whether something as a full-time or part-time position on your resume. For 2L summer, most people I knew had a full-time job, whether it was law-related or not.
  3. I think you can - I did the articling recruit this summer and met a couple of people during it who had just finished law school and were interviewing as well. At least one of them got a job through the recruit. The positions are still for the following year so you’d have to figure out what you’d do for the gap year
  4. 2018 2L Recruitment

Based on my experience, I think they view the process differently, at least when extending interviews. I went through the articling recruit and ended up getting interviews with a firm I had met with during OCIs (but didn’t get invited back to do an in-firm), and with a firm that did not interview me for a 2L position.
  5. Summer Student Recruit Question

    Don't reply to these emails.
  6. Toronto Articling Recruit 2018-19

Hicks Morley sent out ITCs this afternoon
  7. Toronto Articling Recruit 2018-19

    ITC from FSCO
  8. Toronto Articling Recruit 2018-19

I'm not sure - I did not get one but someone I know did.
  9. Toronto Articling Recruit 2018-19

    Torkin Manes has sent ITCs
  10. Course Waitlist

I had both as my top choices. Got into one but not the other. I was #10 or so on the waitlist for a course last year and ended up getting into the class during add/drop period.
  11. Toronto Articling Recruit 2018-19

I would assume that firms would send them at once but there are instances in past threads where they have been sent over the course of several hours or even days. basically, it depends on the firm.
  12. Toronto Articling Recruit 2018-19

Probably won't stop me from constantly checking my email anyway. What I wouldn't give to not be so neurotic.
  13. Toronto 1L Recruit

No goat sacrifice needed, just your soul. Just kidding - good luck with the process!
  14. Toronto 2017 2L Recruitment

Has anyone heard back from the OSC?
